The rest of the ceiling is generally well insulated but a couple of gaps need to be filled. Ie some odd batts added and repositioned. Roof space details: • Tight access with angled trusses • Some areas require careful movement as tighter access near wall plate edge • AC and DC solar cabling present in parts of ceiling. • No electrical work required — just careful placement of batts and appropriate clearances • Manhole access 370 * 520 mm. Distance to uninsulated area is about 4 m from manhole. Full bag will not fit through manhole in one go. Scope of Works — Underfloor Insulation Installation. We require the labor for 1 or possibly 1.5 days for the installation of underfloor insulation beneath the house. The scope includes: Installation of insulation batts — approximately 10 bags to be fitted securely to the underside of the floorboards. I’m looking for an experienced person to help convert my concrete garage into a functional studio space. The task is to insulate the existing concrete garage floor and install a durable surface on top. The finished result needs to: - Improve thermal comfort (reduce cold from the concrete floor) - Be suitable for use as a workshop/studio (standing, working, light equipment) Open to solutions (thinking polyethylene sheet, XPs or EPS, plywood, vinyl or laminate), but budget is limited so I’m looking for someone with experience who can recommend the best approach for a reasonable cost. The product is a recycled polyester batt (soft, no itch, no PPE needed) that simply tucks up between the joists and staples into the timber, very straightforward once you’ve done a few. The work involves: • Cutting rolls to length (width is pre-sized, length cuts only) • Tucking batts snugly up under the floorboards • Stapling into timber joists to secure Important: There is fragile ducted heating pipework under the house. You’ll need to work carefully around this and not rush. This is the main requirement, someone methodical who won’t damage the ducting. It’s not difficult but it is a little tedious and dirty under there.
