I’m looking for an experienced carpenter / plasterer or ceiling renovation contractor to install a new insulated plasterboard ceiling in my existing single garage in Malvern East. Garage details: * Approx. 3.5m × 6.1m (21m²) * Existing corrugated metal roof with exposed timber beams * No existing plasterboard ceiling * Roof has been inspected and repaired, with no active leaks identified * Electrical rough-in has already been completed for 6 LED downlights Scope of work: 1. Inspect the existing timber beams, particularly one partially deteriorated section near the rear window. Advise whether additional timber reinforcement is required and provide a separate price if necessary. 2. Supply and install suitable ceiling framing/battens as required. 3. Supply and install ceiling insulation, including an appropriate condensation-management solution for the existing metal roof. 4. Supply and install plasterboard ceiling across approximately 21m². 5. Complete all plasterboard jointing, stopping and sanding, ready for painting. 6. Construct a suitable bulkhead/boxing around the front roller door area and close fixed gaps where appropriate, while maintaining full roller door operation and service access. 7. Allow for the 6 pre-wired LED downlight positions. Optional extra: * Weather sealing around the roller door, including top and side brush seals, if experienced with garage doors. Important: * The electrician will return to complete the LED downlight installation. * Please include labour and materials in your quote. * Please specify whether timber reinforcement, insulation, bulkhead and sealing are included or priced separately. * Photos of the existing garage are available. Looking for an experienced carpenter/builder to convert an existing open-plan study into an enclosed bedroom by constructing a new internal wall with a bedroom door. The opening is approximately 3 metres wide. Photos attached show the existing space and proposed wall position marked in purple. Scope of Work: 1. Timber framing: Supply and install timber stud framing from floor to ceiling (approximately 3m wide), including framing for a standard internal bedroom door. 2. Sound insulation: Supply and install acoustic insulation batts within the wall to minimise noise transfer between the bedroom and hallway. 3. Plasterboard: Supply and install plasterboard on both sides of the wall, including taping, joint setting, sanding and finishing ready for painting. 4. Bedroom door: Supply and hang a standard internal hinged door matching the existing bedroom doors, including hinges and door stops. 5. Door jamb and architraves: Supply and install door jamb and architraves matching the existing bedrooms. 6. Door handle: Fit my existing passage-style door handle (supplied by me). I’ve already installed over half the subfloor insulation in my home (134m2) and need someone to complete the job (approx 65m2). The product is a recycled polyester batt (soft, no itch, no PPE needed) that simply tucks up between the joists and staples into the timber, very straightforward once you’ve done a few. The work involves: • Cutting rolls to length (width is pre-sized, length cuts only) • Tucking batts snugly up under the floorboards • Stapling into timber joists to secure Important: There is fragile ducted heating pipework under the house. You’ll need to work carefully around this and not rush. This is the main requirement, someone methodical who won’t damage the ducting. It’s not difficult but it is a little tedious and dirty under there. All equipment is provided: • Knee pads • 2 x staple guns • Head torch • Scissors/blade for • Protective eyewear and mask (for dust) •I used a bike helmet to protect my head which you are welcome to use but if you have a hard hat that would be better.
