Slab specifications: - Size: 1620 × 880 mm (approximately 1.43 m²) - Concrete thickness: 100 mm - Compacted road base: approximately 75 mm - Perimeter rebate: 75 mm wide × 25 mm deep, as specified by Absco - Level finish suitable for shed installation Site conditions: The proposed location is in the backyard alongside a timber boundary fence. The area currently has grass, weeds and some tree roots. Ground preparation and levelling will be required. Materials already purchased: - 12 × 20 kg bags of road base - 3 × 2.4 m lengths of 90 × 35 mm treated pine (already cut for formwork) - Timber stakes - Timber screws - String line - Concrete finishing float Concrete and reinforcement have not yet been purchased. Scope of work: 1. Prepare and level the ground, including removal of vegetation and minor roots. 2. Install and compact road base. 3. Set up formwork to the correct dimensions. 4. Install reinforcement as appropriate. 5. Form the manufacturer's specified perimeter rebate. 6. Pour, level and finish the concrete slab. I’m looking for an experienced concreter to supply and install a concrete slab for a garden shed at the back of my house. The proposed slab is approximately 4m long x 2.5m deep (10m²) and will be positioned alongside the existing timber fence, as shown in the attached photos. Dimensions and exact position can be measured and confirmed onsite before work commences. The job should include: Excavation and site preparation as required Removal and disposal of excavated material Compacted crushed-rock/sub-base suitable for the slab Formwork Reinforcement/mesh as appropriate Supply and pour concrete Appropriate slab thickness for a standard metal garden shed Level and finish concrete suitable for the shed to be installed directly onto it Finished slab to be square and level for shed installation Appropriate fall/drainage considerations so water does not pool against the shed, fence or house Removal of formwork and clean-up of the area Access is via the side of the house, as shown in the photos.
