The job includes: • Carefully remove the existing door without damaging the hinges, as these will be reused. • Remove and keep the existing hinges. • Drill out and transfer the metal house number from the old door to the new door. • Remove the existing deadlock from the old door. • Accurately cut and mortise the new door to suit the existing deadlock. • Bore and fit the hole for a new door knob (door knob supplied by me). • Install the new door, ensuring correct alignment, smooth operation, and even gaps. • Refit the existing hardware and ensure the door latches and locks correctly. When making an offer, please confirm that you have the appropriate tools for this work, including a router or mortising tools, hole saws/door lock installation kit, sharp chisels, drill, and any other equipment required to achieve a professional result. Hi, I’m looking for someone to supply and install a door for my media room/lounge area. I am not sure how much, just set a random price, we will discuss. The opening is approximately 1500mm wide. The ceiling height is around 2700mm, so it is a little higher than a standard doorway. I’m open to suggestions for the most practical and budget-friendly solution. Possible options could include: Double sliding doors Barn-style sliding doors Double hinged doors Timber/MDF internal doors Frosted or privacy glass doors, if not too expensive Any other suitable door solution I would prefer someone who can supply everything needed, including the door, track or frame if required, handles, fittings, and a lock if possible. I don’t need a luxury or very expensive option. I just want something clean, practical, and suitable for privacy/media room use. If it can be lockable, that would be great.
