The opener was purchased around 5 years ago but has never been installed, it has remained in storage since purchase. The job includes: Installing the gate opener onto the existing gates. Gate opens but does not stop at the end, possible issue with limit switch. It then goes in a loop and doesn’t stop until button pressed. Only moves one way, not two ways.

The mounting bracket for my automatic gate opener has pulled out of the timber rail. I need a handyman to securely re-attach it so it can handle the tension of the motor. The job involves: • Reinforcing the mount: The original holes are stripped and show some rust staining. You will likely need to use larger timber structural screws or, ideally, bolt through the rail with a backing plate for maximum strength. • Re-aligning the arm: Ensuring the gate closer (piston) is level and functions smoothly without straining the motor. • Weatherproofing: Applying a bit of wood filler or sealant to the old holes to prevent further rot/rust. Details: • Material: Painted timber fence rail. • Equipment: Please bring a drill, heavy-duty timber fasteners (Coach screws or through-bolts), and basic wood repair tools. • Timing: Flexible, but looking to get it fixed within the next few days. Advice for the Fix • Don't just use bigger screws: Since those holes look a bit "blown out," simply putting a larger screw in might only work for a few weeks. • The "Through-Bolt" Method: Ask the Tasker if they can use "cup head bolts" that go all the way through the timber to the other side with a large washer and nut. This is the only way to ensure an automatic closer doesn't rip out again.

My timber gate has broken the timber post it was hinged to. The existing post needs to be removed, a new treated pine post installed in concrete, and the gate rehung with the existing hinges if possible. The gate should be aligned so it opens and closes properly.

I need an experienced fencing contractor or handyman to repair my side timber gate in Toowoomba. Please note that some of the attached photos were taken before the gate fully collapsed, so its current condition is worse than shown in some images. I am looking for a proper long-term repair, not a temporary fix. The job includes inspecting the gate, frame and posts, rehanging and realigning the gate, and replacing all worn or damaged hardware with new heavy-duty components, including hinges, latches, catches and any other fittings required. I would like a heavy-duty drop bolt (slide-down ground bolt) installed to secure the gate when closed, as well as an additional heavy-duty sliding bolt or locking bolt fitted around the middle of the gate so it can be securely locked and supported when required. Any additional support hardware needed to prevent future sagging or failure should also be installed. I would also like a suitable hold-open mechanism fitted so the gate can be secured in the open position and not swing shut in windy conditions. Please inspect the existing posts and advise whether any post movement may have contributed to the failure. I am looking for someone experienced in gate and fencing repairs who can provide a strong, reliable repair that will last, as I intend to replace the entire fence at a later date.
