Installing Colorbond fence extensions

Screenline's standard Colorbond fence extensions are designed to fit existing Colorbond fencing. A Tasker can start by checking the existing posts and matching the extension components to the fence. They can fit the joiners, slide the extension posts into position and secure them with the supplied tek screws. The infill panel then needs to sit correctly before the top rail is fitted and fixed to the posts.

Installing timber fence extensions

Screenline's extension kits for timber fences need to account for the existing structure rather than relying on Colorbond posts. A Tasker can position the extension posts at the required height, fasten them securely to the existing fence, then fit the extension panel across the posts. 

On longer runs, panels need to overlap at the joins so the mesh lines up correctly. Holding, aligning and fastening these sections can be a tricky job on your own, especially along an uneven or sloping fence.

Installing aluminium slat extensions

Aluminium slat kits from Screenline Systems involve more than simply attaching a finished panel to the fence. A Tasker can assemble the slat section, prepare the post sleeves and adaptors, position the components and secure the slats through the post assembly.

Screenline's guide also calls for the completed extension to be lifted into the existing posts, which requires a second person. Once positioned, the posts, sleeves, adaptors and slats are screwed together at the required points. 

Installing freestanding feature screens 

Screenline Systems’ freestanding feature screens aren't attached to an existing fence in the same way as a standard extension. The kit includes a feature screen infill panel, posts and rails, plus SHS steel posts that form the freestanding structure. A Tasker can assemble these components, position the screen where you want it and secure the supporting posts before fitting the infill and rails. 

Multiple fence extension installation

If you're extending several fence sections, the job quickly becomes more than a single-panel installation. A Tasker can work through each section, match the correct posts, rails and infill panels, assemble the kits and keep the finished height consistent across the fence line.

Longer runs may also require panel overlaps and careful alignment at each join. Doing this alone means repeatedly moving materials, holding panels in place and checking each section before fixing it.
