Currently, 5 of the downlights are hardwired. I would need to remove each downlights and connect one surface socket plug for each cable. The surface socket plug would have to be small enough to fit the recess which is pretty tight. The first two photos are the old downlights. The second photo is the new downlight.

Electrical job to replace a wired in downlight

***Location is in Northcote, Airtasker had an error code when trying to add correct location. 1 ceiling light in loungeroom and intercom also located in loungeroom area is currently off. I believe it’s a loose wire issue as suggested by brother in law that is an electrician but unavailable today as the light has been turning on & off for a few years now but we’ve just tolerated it but now light won’t turn on at all and the intercom has gone with it.
