Description: Seeking an experienced carpenter / builder for exterior weatherproofing work on a single-storey home in Crawley. The property has an added room (extension). One gable-end wall is timber-framed weatherboard on the upper half and brick on the lower half. The roof currently has no eave overhang on this side, so rainwater runs straight down and repeatedly soaks the timber section, which is thin and prone to damp. Scope of work: Build/add an eave (roof overhang) along the roof edge on this wall to direct rainwater away from the wall — including fascia, eave lining and gutter/downpipe as required. Install waterproof cladding/sheeting over the timber wall section, with building wrap/sarking behind, to weatherproof the wall. Requirements: Current trade licence and public liability insurance (please confirm in your offer). Able to advise on / arrange asbestos testing and, if needed, licensed removal — the home is older and existing eave/cladding materials may contain asbestos. Please advise whether a building permit is required for the eave work. Access: The property is tenanted — site inspection must be arranged by appointment in advance. What we’re advertising: Remove all 13 x roof sheets. Remove the shade cloth and replace it with the supplied one. Reassemble the existing roof sheet and 3 x new supplied sheets Shade cloth underneath colorbond roof and 3 x polycarbonate sheets are damaged and need replacing (see photos). I’m supplying materials. The shade cloth is one piece and spans across the entire roof line.
