Hi there, I’m looking for an experienced carpenter to repair a section of my deck near the stairs. The Issue: The deck is currently sagging quite noticeably. Looking underneath, the timber at one of the cross joints has heavily rotted out, and the metal bracket connecting the joists is no longer holding securely. I'm looking for a professional to replace the rotted joist and jack the deck up so it's no longer sagging, ensuring it's structurally sound long-term. When submitting your quote, please briefly outline your proposed solution (e.g., how you plan to jack it up, replace the rotted sections, install a support, reinforce or something else entirely). Additional Info: Access: It is accessible from underneath. It's an unpaved gravel surface, but there is an access door at the side with enough clearance to get under there and work. Materials: Please let me know in your quote if your price includes supplying the replacement timber/hardware/stumps, or if you prefer I supply the materials prior to the job. Task Description: Need a professional to refresh a set of external wooden stairs leading to the deck. Scope of work: High-pressure clean the stairs and handrails. Light sanding to remove rough patches and old stains. Apply 2 coats of quality decking oil/stain (I can provide the oil or we can discuss).
