Replace 2 wooden struts on back of gate which are rotting. Basically the top horizontal bar and the right hand side angled bar. I have the new wood sections and new screws. The old pieces have screws which need to be drilled out. Also install new ring handle latch which I have. Bring gate to good working state.

I’m looking for an experienced carpenter or joiner to install a slim windowsill along the full length of a window in my Manly studio apartment. The run is approximately 7.4 m long. I’d like the sill to be no more than 90 mm deep, with a softly rounded front edge. My preference is light natural oak with a matte finish, though I’m open to soft white if that will work better. I want it to look like one continuous sill, with neat, discreet joins. The existing painted ledge isn’t uniformly flat, and I don’t know what material is underneath it. I need someone to inspect it, measure accurately, advise how to level and securely fix the new sill, then supply, cut, finish and install it. Please avoid fixing into the window frame or interfering with the window or blinds. Task Description Water damage to timber floor underneath a plant pot that appears to have overflowed/leaked. The affected area is quite dark and the wood is slightly raised in a few spots. Looking for someone experienced with timber flooring to assess the damage and repair it as neatly as possible.

The hutch is structurally intact but has significant wear, scratches, old paint/finish Scope of work: * Strip/remove the existing paint, varnish and/or old finish as required to expose and restore the original timber. * Carefully sand the external and internal timber surfaces, including doors, drawers, trims and edges. * Repair scratches, gouges, chips, small holes and other damaged areas using appropriately colour-matched timber filler or other suitable timber-repair methods. * Repair or adjust doors, drawers, hinges, catches and other hardware as required so everything opens, closes and operates properly. * Retain and clean the existing hardware where practical. * Re-line the drawers and cupboard/storage areas with a suitable new liner. * Prepare and finish the exposed timber to bring out the natural grain and character of the piece. * Apply a suitable protective natural-looking finish such as furniture oil, hard wax oil or wax. I would prefer a natural timber appearance rather than a painted finish. * Final finish should be consistent while retaining the character and age of the hutch rather than making it look completely new. Happy to discuss the most appropriate restoration approach and finish with someone experienced in restoring older timber furniture. Please include in your offer whether materials/consumables are included and, if possible, examples or photos of similar furniture restoration work you have completed. The hutch can be worked on at my location or taken away and returned once completed, depending on what is easier.

I was thinking that a custom cupboard across that whole wall would be good. A tall section for the ladder and chairs and stuff and to the ceiling would be good then shelving inside - maybe one that pulls out when I use the bbq? I like the look at the white wood panelling vibe - maybe sliding or barn type doors rather that ones that open out but am open to ideas. It just has to be able to withstand Manly weather both on the outside and whatever the inside shelves are made out of. Also, even though I own the apartment I don’t want to get into any strata strife so would need to be removable/ just fixed to the wall if it needs securing rather than too ‘built in’ so I can say when asked that it’s furniture not affecting the building structure at all.
