The apartment is 80+ years old with plastered brick walls and solid oak skirting boards. Once space is confirmed I’ll need more skirting removed (see main job in other task) Location is Balaclava. Seeking quote inclusive of airtasker fee, replacing the skirting boards with new ones in an older Californian bungalo. Must have appropriate insurance and looking for a carpenter. Quotes can be inclusive of material for a Victorian/Colonial skirting, or i can propvide it. The older skirting needs to be disposed too. Currently in the process of removing the carpet and restoring the timber floors, which has exposed a relatively large gap between the floor and the existing skirting boards—up to 20 mm in some areas. I would also like the gaps sealed to help improve insulation and heating efficiency. Quad or scotia may not be suitable, although I'm open to considering those options, if appropriate. There are two rooms (with robes) that definitely require work, each measuring approximately 4 m x 4 m. Depending on the cost, I would also be open to having other areas (up to 64sqm) of the house completed. Job needs to be commenced after the 14th of June, to allow for the ocmpletion of the floor restoration. Thank you!

Think a carpenter is needed. Damaged skirting boards, ive tried sanding them down and re painting them but think they'd be better off just being replaced. Not an entire room just small areas. I dont trust myself to remove them etc. Pics are taken after trying to sand them down and fresh paint (sorry photos arnt the best) Looking at booking for next weekend (13-14th) as I dont get paid until Wednesday

The apartment is 80+ years old so the skirting boards are painted solid oak. Once the wall space behind the skirting boards is confirmed (Task 1 of 2), I’ll need you to: 1. detach 4x pieces of skirting (each approximately 2-3m) from the plastered brick walls. Apartment is 1950’s so the plaster is textured/rough like many walls from that era. 3. Return after the electrician has installed the required electrical extensions, to reattach the skirting. I’ll patch and paint it but happy to negotiate a price if this work interests you. Location is Balaclava. Access on all days except Wednesday during business hours.

I have timber rot in the lower section of an external ground floor door frame (bottom of the jamb on one side). The timber is soft and needs to be properly cut out and repaired or replaced. There is also a section of internal skirting board nearby that needs replacing to match the existing profile. Scope: - Cut out and replace rotten section of door jamb - Replace damaged internal skirting board (ideally is but doesn’t need to be a perfect match) - Leave ready for painting The door opens onto a brick-paved courtyard. There may be moisture contributing to the damage, so I’m looking for someone experienced who can advise on the correct long-term fix. This is an older solid brick home in Melbourne.
