Hi everyone, I'm planning to replace my gas cooktop with an induction cooktop and install a new range hood. My current setup is shown in the photos: I have a freestanding gas cooktop and an electric oven. I'm not sure whether my existing range hood is ducted or recirculating. I asked ChatGPT based on the photos, and it suggested that it might be a recirculating model. However, I also noticed a small vent on the outside wall that seems to line up with the cooktop area, so now I'm not sure. I'd really appreciate any advice from anyone who's done a similar upgrade: 1. Should I buy a ducted range hood or a recirculating one? 2. Do I need to hire two separate tradespeople—an electrician to check/install the high-power circuit for the induction cooktop, and a licensed gas fitter to disconnect and cap off the gas line?
