We are looking at replacing our current gas cooktop with an induction cooktop. Looking for a licensed electrician to visit our unit to see if this would be feasible at a reasonable cost. If yes, will likely use same Tasker to install the induction cooktop once purchased.

My Smeg gas cooktop (see attached photos) has one burner where the ignitor is now flickering/weak when I turn the knob. It was working perfectly until yesterday when steam from a boil-over on the next burner got into the ignitor area. I’ve already cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry for a full day, but the spark is still intermittent and weak. All other burners ignite normally. I’m looking for a quick, reliable fix – either a deep clean of the electrode/spark module or replacement of the ignitor if needed.

I’m having an issue with my gas cooktop. When I turn on the power, it makes a clicking sound, but the burner doesn’t ignite.

The existing gas stove needs to be safely disconnected and removed and a new gas stove installed. All work must be carried out by a licensed gas fitter or gas plumber in accordance with NSW regulations. The installer must test the appliance for safe operation and provide a Certificate of Compliance upon completion.

I am looking to Remove Gas cook top so I can install new stone bench top. And Install New gas cook top same day (once the stone work is done or come back later. Also remove and install 60cm slide out Rangehood. This can be done while removing the gas cook top. Plz note you can remove and install new Rangehood and also remove gas cooktop at same time but you will have to come back in the evening to install new gas cooktop once stone is installed. This has to be done strictly around 7/8am in the morning on Wednesday. Or late evening on Tuesday.
