We think an electrical fault is interfering with the performance of the car. In particular the dash board becomes unreliable(videos are available). With use on any particular trip things don't work. Car wants to stall,windows won't work etc. When stopped for a little while things return to normal. Otherwise car runs fine for short journeys. Diagnostics have been undertaken by local garage and Volvo dealer(Alternator ok etc). Last year local garage sent dashboard away for specialist processing. Passed mot and things ok for a while but now back to where we were. If not fixed then no mot. - Due date: Flexible
Volvo S40 RV53YYZ ignition switch replaced

RAC diagnosed yesterday that the ignition switch is faulty hence there being full electrics but the engine will not crank. He 'jumped' the starter to the battery live terminal and she started immediately.
