What does a housekeeping service include?

Housekeeping services can include one-off services or regular domestic tasks (daily, weekly, or fortnightly), from cleaning and cooking to even home maintenance. Your housekeeper will bring along all the products and equipment they need to clean and maintain your home - all you need to do is tell them what you need done. Here’s how they can help:

Cleaning

The most common housekeeping service involves cleaning. This could include general cleaning, like vacuumingmoppingdusting, and bathroom cleaning. Or it might include detail cleaning tasks like couchcurtainfloorfridge, and . Depending on the number of tasks you’d like your housekeeper to complete, they may clean for just an hour, or up to the entire day. Your housekeeper will discuss a time that’s convenient for you, the tasks you need done, and the timeframe it should take to complete these tasks. If needed, they can bring their own cleaning supplies, like a vacuum cleaner and feather duster.

Organising and tidying

Many housekeepers offer professional organising services, where they help organise and tidy all areas of your home. This includes desks, filing cabinets, stationery, linen, wardrobes, toys, kitchen cupboards, garage interiors, and more. They’ll pull out all the items, organise them by category, and help you choose what you should keep, donate, or bin. They’ll also help by recommending suitable storage solutions to help you keep your home tidy for longer.

Cooking

Some housekeepers are available to help with cooking in your home. They might prepare a few snacks, or help prep several meals ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about cooking. Your housekeeper will present menu and recipe options for you to choose from and use your ingredient and kitchen supplies to cook everything in your kitchen. Once they’re done, they’ll store the freshly cooked food (with heating instructions) and clean up any mess.

Laundry

Washing and ironing starting to pile up? Housekeepers can help by putting on loads of washing, hanging clothes, loading the dryer, folding washing, ironing, and even putting it away. They’ll check the care labels to ensure appropriate washing/drying methods are used before they start the process. With some extra help, you’ll be all caught up on the laundry in no time.

Home maintenance

Many housekeepers are skilled in basic household maintenance tasks. But if they’re unable to do the job themselves, they’ll help organise and oversee skilled contractors who can help do repairs and maintenance in and around your home.

I haven’t had time to clean due to coursework, so my flat has become quite messy. I’d really appreciate help with a basic clean (bathroom wipe-down, mopping) and organising clothes, as well as tidying up the space overall. Type of clean: Regular Number of bedrooms: 1 Number of bathrooms: 1 Equipment and supplies: I can provide

Florence is a lifesaver. She’s incredibly hardworking and cleaned my home tirelessly without taking a break. My place was basically a mess before, but in just one day she made it feel like a brand new home. I can honestly say her service is even better than cleaners who charge much more❗️ I highly recommend her!

Wrap Presents + Light Kitchen Tidy (ASAP Today) – 2–3 Hours

£30

Oxhey, Hertfordshire

12th Jan 2026

Looking for someone pleasant and reliable to come today (ASAP) for a simple job: • wrapping some Christmas presents (main task) • washing up • drying/putting dishes away • taking a small rubbish bag to the outside bin • quick sweep of the kitchen Nothing heavy and no deep cleaning — just light tasks to reset the place and get the presents wrapped properly. Ideally someone who can work at a steady pace, follow instructions, and isn’t fazed by odd hours — I’m around any time, even late.

Polite and responsive Tasker. Wrapping wasn’t suitable for gifting and I had to re-do it myself. May be better suited to non-presentation/utility tasks.

Declutter + Organise ADHD Bedroom (Clothes + General Reset) Help

£150

Acton, Greater London, W3

5th Dec 2025

Hi! I’m looking for someone experienced in decluttering and organising to help reset my bedroom. I have ADHD, so things have built up, and I need support with sorting and creating simple, maintainable systems. This is more of an organisation + reset (slight deep clean) task rather than a standard clean. What I need help with: • Sorting a large amount of clothing (keep / laundry / donate) • Folding and organising items into clear categories • Tidying and reorganising my wardrobe/storage area • Clearing the floor and surfaces • Creating simple, ADHD-friendly systems I can maintain • Light cleaning at the end (vacuum + wipe-down)

Arianna is exceptional. I was completely overwhelmed by my room, and she transformed it far beyond what I expected. She came with a clear plan, worked with so much care, and created ADHD-friendly systems that actually make sense for me. She was patient, non-judgmental, and even gave me guidance on how to maintain everything going forward. I’m honestly speechless at the difference, the before and after speaks for itself. I’m so grateful.
