When the gas hob is burning there is an orange flame coming from the burner. We belive that it is a potnetially blocked burner or the air to flow ratio is off. The hot water is turning off after a bit of use then does not come on for another 10 minutes believe it needs to be re - pressurised.
Ikenna will turn up and attempt to problem solve whatever the issue is and will ensure when they leave the property the work has been completed and advice has been given.

I have a capped off gas valve in the centre of a chimney breast that I'd like to remove/ plaster over. It would have been a victorian gas wall lamp. I'm 99% sure that this pipe is redundant as the flat was renovated a few years ago and the gas supply to the boiler and hob was re-routed. I'd like a qualified Gas engineer to open the valve and test/ confirm that it is redundant – and cut it back / cap it behind the face of the wall. No decorating/ remedial works required. Just gas check, cut back the pipe area and capping.

Short version: I'm looking to see if there is a gas pipe in my flat that has been capped. I live in a 1-bedroom flat and the gas was (I believe) only for cooking, so this should be a very quick job. Long version: When I bought my flat (decades ago), the previous owner told me that there had been gas in the flat originally for a gas oven; but that he had switched to electricity. At the time I thought he'd capped the pipe; but I phoned Cadent Gas and they think it was disconnected. Before I take their word for it, I'd like a qualified gas engineer to come round and check to see where/ whether there are any pipes, and what else they can see (has it been capped?).
