Top Paving related questions
You don’t have to! Taskers can provide the necessary equipment, such as stabilisers, reclaimers, milling machines, tipper lorries, and other essential tools. But if you happen to have these on hand and you prefer to have your Tasker use them, you may do so as well. Just remember to inform your Tasker about this arrangement beforehand.
It depends on the kind of service you need. Generally, installation takes at least two days to be finished. Maintenance and repairs depend on your pavement’s condition and the extent of damage. Likewise, upgrades depend on what kind of updating you want for your property. It’s best to consult with your Tasker about this so you can agree on the timeline and schedule.
It all boils down to the kind of materials used and if it is regularly and properly maintained. Typically, a well-maintained stone paving can last for 50-100 years. On the other hand, concrete is expected to last for 25-50 years and asphalt for 10-25 years. Wood paving can last two to three years.
It depends on your needs and what you’re planning to use it for. For patio slabs, it’s best to have concrete, natural stone, or porcelain paving slabs because of their aesthetic and durable qualities. You may want to use sandstone, gravel, slate, granite, and limestone for your garden, while asphalt or concrete paving is ideal for driveways.
It’s best to book during the spring and summer months. This is to take advantage of the weather because the best temperature for hot paving is generally 21 degrees Celsius or higher. While you can lay patio slabs for your paving at temperatures as low as 10 degrees, it probably won’t bring the best results. Also, consider the wind and precipitation as they can cool the material while it’s being laid, leading to real problems.
It depends on the service you had, but generally, you can walk onto your newly-serviced paving after at least a day or two. Remember not to walk on it with high heels or pointed shoes, as they can dig into the surface, causing ruts and holes. It’s also highly recommended to avoid driving large and heavy vehicles over it for a while.
The typical outdoor paving cost is around £10,000 to £12,000 for a driveway or garden-sized project. The material and additional services will also add to your total outdoor paving costs.
The difference between paver installation and paving installation lies in the materials used and the level of customization. Paver installation typically involves concrete, brick, or stone units laid in specific patterns, offering more design flexibility. Paving installation, on the other hand, often refers to broader surfacing using materials like asphalt or concrete for driveways, roads, or larger areas.
Top Block Paving related questions
There’s no need! Tradespeople usually have their own professional equipment for projects like these. If you feel like you need specific equipment, you can always ask the Tasker before accepting their offer. Bigger projects may require lorries for hauling while sloping grounds will need special handling. You don’t have to know or have the tools. Inform your Tasker of any unique circumstance for your project, so they can factor it in costs and prepare accordingly.
Most block paving installations take two to three days on average, depending on the property’s size. Meanwhile, repairs and replacements vary based on the extent of damage or availability of blocks that match your existing ones. Factors such as the state of the property and the soil texture can also require more time. The benefit of working with Taskers offering block paving near you is they are already familiar with the properties. This can quicken the process.
Yes, it is! Block paving is a recommended choice even in commercial properties with very high traffic. You can find block pavements in shopping centres, offices and residential complexes because they can last for decades at a reasonable cost. Some suppliers even claim that the material can withstand the pressure of an aeroplane, so your car is not a problem.
In most instances, a tradesperson will ask for you to purchase blocks and other materials needed on your own. This allows you to choose based on your preference and control the cost. However, if you don’t have time or have no idea what to buy, you can also put up a task for block paving suppliers near you. Another option is to ask your hired tradesperson to purchase for you and include the costs in the total bill.
A lot of people interchange block paving and brick paving, but the difference is quite simple. Brick paving often refers to using clay bricks for your pavement needs. Meanwhile, block paving uses concrete pavers. There are also eco-friendly options like those made from recycled material. If you’re unsure which to go for, simply provide the details to your Tasker to avoid any miscommunication.
The right paving tradesperson for you may not necessarily be the nearest, most expensive and most experienced company. It depends on your current needs. Your budget, the design you’re going for, and the material you want to use may need someone else. Find out the necessary licensing required for your project, and decline any offers that do not have it. Next, check their profiles, reviews and ratings. This will allow you to see how satisfied their previous clients are.
Top Driveway Paving related questions
It all depends on a lot of factors. Before choosing a paving material for your driveway, you can ask yourself these questions: How much budget do you have? What materials meet your design tastes? What’s the lifespan you expect to have out of the driveway? How much maintenance are you willing to commit? Take note of your answers, and consider them when choosing your paving material.
The driveway paving itself can be completed in one to ten days, depending on how big your driveway is. However, before that, your Tasker needs to inspect and assess your property first, make recommendations, and arrange necessary permissions. You also need to approve the schedule and the cost estimate. All these processes may take two to four weeks.
It depends on the weather conditions, but generally, you can walk on your newly paved driveway after 24 to 48 hours. Doing it too soon may cause damage and lead to issues. You also want to keep vehicles off your driveway until after it’s cured and has developed its full strength. Generally, you need to wait for at least three to four weeks before driving in small cars and 28 days for heavy and large vehicles.
Not necessarily. Taskers have their own tools and equipment, such as power saws, hydraulic splitters, chisels, and lump hammers. Professional paving equipment can help them get the job done quickly and efficiently. But if you have your own set of tools and prefer to use them, that’s perfectly fine as well. Just don’t forget to let your Tasker know beforehand and make the necessary arrangements.
Yes, you can. But if you want to save time or don’t have the skills to install driveway pavers by yourself, you can always leave it to the professionals. Expert driveway paving installers have years of experience and the appropriate tools to do a fantastic driveway paving job. Hiring a skilled installer also ensures optimal results and lesser mistakes, so you get to save on resources.
You can have it sealed regularly every two years. This is to protect your driveway paver from cracking, chipping, and changing of the alkaline properties. Sealing can also help your driveway paver to maintain its aesthetic appeal and retain its colour and brightness. Cleaning it regularly with the appropriate tools and solutions is also part of its maintenance. It’s best to hire someone to do all these for you so that they can repair any issues right away.
Top Garden Paving related questions
The material you should choose for your garden paving depends on many factors. First, consider your budget. There are both low-budget and high-budget paving products and materials on the market. Second, it depends on your design preferences and how you envision your garden to look. Durability and longevity are also essential since you want a paving material that is worth your investment.
It all depends on the size of your property. An average-sized garden can be paved in three to seven days. It can also be challenging to bring in heavy machinery in a garden, making the paving service a labour-intensive task. Bigger and more extensive gardens can accommodate these paving machinery, but paving work may also take some time to finish.
It’s generally recommended to wait for at least 24 to 48 hours before walking on your new garden paving. This window gives it time to settle, dry, and strengthen. Walking on it too soon can lead to uneven surfaces. You certainly don’t want that to happen! For best results, try not to place heavy furniture on your new garden paving for at least 28 days. You want your garden paving to be fully cured first.
No. Taskers typically carry their own professional tools to deliver a high-quality garden paving job. These tools may include a shovel, plate vibrator, paving slabs of your choice, and other materials and supplies. If you have those on hand and prefer to use them, coordinate with your Tasker and have it arranged before the service begins.
Yes, you can lay garden paving yourself. But hiring a professional is much more convenient and highly recommended. Booking reliable garden paving services can save you precious time and money in the long run. Taskers can do plenty of work in a shorter amount of time because of their extensive experience and knowledge of garden paving.
Because of sunlight, weather conditions, and harsh chemicals, your garden paving slabs will fade over time, some types faster than the others. It’s a natural process, but you can prevent it by having them sealed. Generally, garden paving slabs need to be sealed every year to ensure that their colours will not fade. Besides that, cleaning them with gentle, biodegradable detergent with no bleaches or acids can also help prevent loss of colour.
Top Patio Paving related questions
It depends on several factors. First, consider your taste in aesthetics. Each type of patio paving material offers a unique look, so make sure to choose one that fits your taste and preference. You should also consider its durability and how long your paving can last. Lastly, think about how often and what your patio will be used for, then adjust your budget accordingly.
An average patio paving job is typically done in three to seven days. This is mainly because, in normal-sized patios, it’s generally difficult to get heavy machinery in, making it labour-intensive. But if you have a huge patio that can accommodate large paving equipment, that may not be a problem. Talk to your Tasker about the size of your patio and the estimated project timeline.
You should stay off your new patio paving for at least 24 to 48 hours. This allows enough time for your patio to dry and strengthen. You want it to be as beautiful as it can be, so avoid walking on it so soon as this might cause unevenness. Also, refrain from placing heavy furniture on it until it’s cured. Generally, your new patio will be fully cured and at its full compressive strength after 28 days.
Not necessarily. Taskers are usually equipped with professional tools, including a spade, wheelbarrow, rake, and more. But if you have your own set of tools and want those to be used for the job, that’s no problem as well. Just be sure to coordinate and agree on an arrangement with your Tasker beforehand.
Yes, but it can be a tedious task that can take away much of your time. It’s recommended to leave patio paving tasks to experts to ensure that it is efficiently and professionally done. Professionally installed patio paving can save you from potential damages that can lead to unnecessary expenses in the future.
First, you can maintain it by having it sealed after it’s installed. It can make them last longer, ward off stains, and maintain their beauty. Second, make sure it’s regularly cleaned by sweeping dirt and dust, removing stubborn stains, and killing weeds. Getting a Tasker to inspect and maintain your patio paving regularly can make maintenance easier for you. They can also spot minor damage and fix it right away!
Top Paver Installation related questions
It all depends on your needs as the property owner. Finding the best paver for your property depends on many factors, including the area you’re going to install it in, the purpose of that area, and your budget. It’s also based on your preferred style and aesthetics. Ultimately, the best paver for your property is the one that can give you a better long-term investment.
No, it’s not necessary to seal your pavers. But it can provide added benefits, such as colour enhancement, joint sand stabilisation, and stain resistance. It can also reduce weeds and ants and minimise potential damages. While it’s not required, sealing your pavers is generally recommended. Think of it as protecting your investment and making it last a lifetime!
Your installation timeline mainly depends on the size of your space. Generally, concrete, asphalt, and stone block paving can take one to two days to install. If you want to add decorative touches to your newly installed block paving, that would require additional time. Discuss your paving needs with your Tasker so you can agree on a timeline and schedule.
That depends on the type of paving material and sealer you have installed on your property. Usually, you need to wait at least 24 to 48 hours before walking or driving on your newly installed paving. To be on the safe side, you may want to refrain from placing heavy furniture or driving a large vehicle on the surface for a while to avoid causing an uneven surface.
No, you don’t have to provide the tools and equipment for your paver installation. Taskers can provide whatever’s required, such as shovels, screed rails, rakes, brooms, and other materials and tools. However, if you have your own equipment and would like your Tasker to use them, you may do so. Be sure to inform them beforehand and make the necessary arrangements.
Yes! Some paving stones are relatively easy to install, like the mortarless ones. But doing it yourself can take up your time, energy, and effort. You’d have to learn all the processes and may make mistakes as you go. These may cause the installation to take longer than you intend. Hiring professionals can help you save time and money in the long run! You can also have peace of mind that the installation is done properly and can expect good results.

We have some concrete pavers that need relaying - as the sand has washed away from underneath and they are no longer flat. We've purchased the sand so would need someone to come and lift the pavers (105 x 25 x 7cm each) and relay with new sand underneath. Thanks! - Due date: Before Friday, 26 May 2023 - Due date: Before Friday, 2 June 2023
Absolutely fantastic service - we booked and he arrived the same day, very promptly and completed the job very efficiently. The paving he re-laid looks great, he was super resourceful and we're so happy with the finish. He's also a really lovely guy. Thanks so much!
