What does a skirting board service include?
Skirting board services cover everything from new installations to touch-ups and replacements. Here's what you can expect when you hire a Tasker:
Assessment & Material Selection
The Tasker will visit your property to assess the space, measure up, and recommend suitable styles and materials, such as MDF, softwood, hardwood, or PVC. They’ll factor in room type, damp resistance, and your design preferences.
Installation
For new builds or renovations, Taskers will cut and install skirting boards to precise specifications. Mitre joints, internal corners, and seamless fitting around doorframes and alcoves are standard.
Repair & Replacements
If your skirting is chipped, loose, or warped, Taskers can patch or replace damaged sections. They’ll match existing styles and ensure flush fitting.
Decorative Finishing
Services often include sanding, caulking, filling gaps, and applying primer or paint for a clean, finished look.
Optional Extras
Some Taskers also offer integrated cable concealment, skirting heating system installations, or specialist heritage moulding services for period homes.

Leak tap, broken oven door, loose skirting board, noisy extractor fan
£250
Garrison Side, East Riding of Yorkshire
4th Nov 2025
Hello, I live in a rented apartment. There's a few handyman types things that need fixing. My landlord allowed me to look around for some quotes for the work I feel needs doing. If you're happy to do these tasks and can give me a quote, I'll go back to him and see if that's possible. So by this Friday is just a speculated date. The things I need done are: 1. the kitchen sink tab is leaking. No visible leaks anywhere else under the sink. the quality of the water is quite questionable so the whole tap needs changing. 3. The kitchen threshold slab that separates the dining area from the kitchen is completely unglued and I would like this fixed. In fact, the skirting boards of all the living areas is pretty much barely attached to the walls and very loose. 4. The mirror-like reflective plate that lines most oven doors became unstuck. It was not fixed in the way I have normally seen them being fixed (screwed in or metal slots). It was a bit like it had some strong glue to keep it in place and the strong glue came away with the heat of the oven on the first use. 5. The oven door only stays open is at a small Gap of about 10 cm and spring back up unless I hold it down when trying to open it up further. It closes fully without a problem but it doesn't stay open on its own when putting items in or taking items out. From what I can tell, it seems to be a hinge or spring issue rather than a design feature. 5. The extractor fan in the bathroom and kitchen is extremely extremely rattly and noisy and dusty. It is hard to truly make the sound not finicky, but if I'm in the bathroom I can't hear anyone outside of the bathroom very well. There is no separate switch that I have been able to identify that separates the light switch from the extractor fan, so turning on the light automatically turns on the extractor fan . I've as a result opted to keep the bathroom light off often. If you you can only do a handful of these tasks please let me know.

I got a new washing machine and due a skirting board sticking out, I can't get it in. I need help removing the skirting board in this area so that I can slide it into place. See the photos. In the photo you can see how it chipped when we tried to shove it in. It does fit - is the same size as my old machine, but whoever put that one in must have fit the kitchen around it.
Helped me troubleshoot a niche carpentry task and had the job done in no time.
