He was very helpful, initially coming to see my house before completing the work and advising me on the spec of the materials I needed to buy. He was efficient in completing the task and the final product was beautiful! He was a pleasure to have around the house and a super friendly guy. Would definitely work with him again.

Top Linoleum Flooring related questions
No, you don’t have to provide any tools or equipment once you’ve hired a linoleum flooring service on Airtasker. You can expect your hired Taskers to come fully equipped to do the job. What you could supply them is the linoleum flooring you want installed. If you don’t have the lino yet, some Taskers can purchase the lino roll you want for a small fee.
That depends on the complexity and scale of the task. Installing lino flooring onto a small room can take at least three days; one for room and floor preparation, one for acclimating the lino, then one for the installation. But if your room needs cleaning and clearing out, add a day to the service. Should the floor require levelling, add another day’s work. Multiply that by the number of rooms you want worked on.
Absolutely. You can hire Taskers to boost your workforce or hire Taskers on a per-project basis. The key to getting the right Taskers is to make a post with details about the job, including your hires’ skills and experience. Interested Taskers with the qualifications you seek will approach you with a free quote, and then you can negotiate from there.
They may look similar in appearance, but linoleum and vinyl flooring are very different. Linoleum is made from natural materials like linseed oil, cork and wood, while vinyl is made from synthetic substances like chlorine and ethylene derived from crude oil. Linoleum is the more eco-friendly flooring of the two, but both types are durable and require less maintenance. Vinyl is favoured by commercial establishments, while homeowners use linoleum. Ask a construction expert to tell you what would look best for your home.
Linoleum is of low cost and low maintenance. They can last at least 25 years, and 40 years at most. Lino flooring is biodegradable and doesn’t emit harmful vapours, so it’s safe for children and pets. The downside? Furniture legs and high heels can dent it. Linoleum turns yellow if exposed to sunlight, so it’s not suited to outdoor spaces. Lino is also not waterproof, so it’s not advised for use in bathrooms or laundry rooms.
Yes, but only if you have the right tools, skills and experience. Compared to other flooring types, linoleum installation is more complicated. The process calls for a lot of preparation, as you must remove all appliances, furniture and fixtures before even measuring the floor area. You must ensure that the floor is clean, dry and level. Installing a linoleum floor is best left to professional flooring fitters, so why not hire them on Airtasker?

What do linoleum flooring services include?
Linoleum flooring services include all the activities necessary to place a linoleum floor. Floorers can apply lino flooring to most indoor rooms, including kitchens and dining areas.
This service can include:
- Floor and linoleum preparation
- Fitting the lino flooring
- Laying the lino flooring
- Fixing the lino flooring onto the floor with adhesive
Checking the room and floor
Before preparing the lino, floorers can check that the floor is clean, dry and level. Ideally, the room and floor should be ready for the floorers to measure, cut, and apply the lino flooring. But if the floor needs cleaning and levelling, some floorers can do these tasks as well.
The room must also be clear of any furnishings, fixtures, and doors. If the room is not prepared, some floorers can clear out appliances, furniture and fixtures, remove doors off their hinges, and temporarily remove floor trims or toilets if necessary. Note that such extensive room clearing and preparation may require an additional budget. If you need more help with other areas of home renovation, finding a roofing expert or handyman near you is just a click away.
Applying underflooring
If the floor of the room isn’t level, floorers can install underflooring or underlayment. Depending on the type of floor, this can consist of laying down sheets of plywood, or in the case of concrete floors, chiselling or grinding down bumps and uneven surfaces with tools. Some floorers may offer this as part of the service.
Measuring the needed material
Once the room is ready, floorers measure the floor to determine the amount of material needed. Floorers can lay down a large sheet of sturdy paper, mark the edges of the walls, then use this as a template to cut out the appropriate shape and amount of lino. They can also do this by using a tape measure to determine the floor’s exact dimensions, then cut out the lino according to the measurements.
Acclimating the linoleum
Lino flooring is a very temperature-sensitive material. If the room and the floor are too cold, this can cause the lino sheet to shrink or warp, resulting in inaccurate measurements and may necessitate floorers to start over. To prevent this, floorers cut the lino in excess of the measurement. Floorers can also check that the room temperature is at least 20℃. They place the lino on the floor without adhesive and leave it for at least 24 hours to acclimate to the room’s temperature.
Laying and glueing the lino
After the 24-hour acclimation, floorers lay down the lino. They need to do this carefully, avoiding creases when positioning the lino flooring. They then apply adhesive to the underside or the lino flooring’s edges, following the instructions and requirements.
Finishing the lino floor
Your hired floorers finish the lino flooring using a heavy roller to push out any air bubbles that may have developed as the adhesive cures. They also apply a linoleum sealant to provide your new lino flooring with a protective layer.

I’m looking for an experienced sheet vinyl installer to finish a parquet‑effect vinyl job I started… and then utterly messed up during the stencil cutting stage. I have managed to save most of it but, rather than make a bigger mess, I’d like a pro to finish. What needs doing: - Lay a 1.3m x 0.5 section of sheet vinyl and double cut with current edge and match pattern. - Fix 3 small areas where pieces need double cutting and matching. Looking for: Someone confident with sheet vinyl, double‑cut seams, and pattern matching — especially parquet designs. I have loads of offcuts that easily cover required area with needed pattern.
