Why hire an electronics repair expert through Airtasker?

Picture this: you’re in a rush to go to work, and your tablet stops working. Or you’re in the middle of preparing for a party when it turns out your hifi or speakers won’t work. You could always look up the owners’ manual or video tutorials and try to DIY these repairs.

You could also take the device to a service centre and hope for a fair budget. Or, you could book a nearby electronics repairman on Airtasker, have them check the damage and do the repair work right in your own home! When you get a Tasker to do electronics repair, you’ll get a trusted specialist who can troubleshoot, repair, and replace the broken parts in your electronic device.

This is safer than trying to do it yourself. Plus, it’s more affordable than going to the shop, since Airtasker lets you set your budget for each repair job. Book a Tasker today to see for yourself - tap the "pink" button to get started!

Top Electronic Repair related questions

This would highly depend on the kind of electronic device that needs fixing and the problems you’ve encountered with it. Usually, you’ll need a repair kit that includes screwdrivers, a multimeter, a soldering kit, wire cutters, and a glue gun, and more. You may also need some spare parts specific to the electronic device you’re working on. Tap the “Post a task” button or browse through our site to find specialists in various kinds of electronic repairs.

You can find an electronics repair service right here on Airtasker! To start looking for a Tasker who can do this for you, tap the ‘Post a task’ button. Fill out the form with the details of your job, such as your desired budget, location, and the issue with your device. Tap ‘Get quotes’, then wait for offers from available Taskers near you. Once you’ve found an offer that suits you, tap to confirm your appointment.

While some electronics repair experts may also be able to repair your appliances (for an added fee, of course), not all of them may have the expertise for troubleshooting refrigerators and washing machines. If you’d like someone to help you with these items, request an electrician or appliance specialist instead. There are plenty of Taskers who can help you install and repair various items in your home.

If you have broken electronics that are beyond repair, you can take them to a recycling centre yourself or have them collected by a waste removal service. Since the materials used for electronic devices can typically be melted down and reused over and over again, you might be able to get some money for these items. If you’ve already consulted with an electronics repair specialist, they might know of places where you can safely dispose of your broken devices.

What does an electronic repair service include?

Airtasker’s electronic repair service covers pretty much all that you would expect at an electronics repair shop - plus added perks like home service and affordable rates. Electronic repair typically includes tools and equipment, troubleshooting, repairs and replacement of faulty parts, plus a Tasker who’ll purchase the replacement parts on your behalf.

While Taskers’ skills may vary from basic electronic repair to more advanced techniques, here’s what you can get done through this service:

GHD repair

Taskers can troubleshoot faulty hair straighteners, install replacement parts, and help you get more years out of your GHD hair iron. This is a great way to get affordable service once your GHD is past its warranty coverage.

LCD screen repair

This includes buffing out scratches, fixing TVs with faulty displays, or replacing cracked plasma, LCD, or glass components. LCD screen specialists can also handle fixing internal parts, like circuit boards. If necessary, they can recommend when it’s best just to purchase a new TV.

If you’d rather replace than repair, you can get a Tasker to help you mount your new television once it arrives.

Headphone repair

Taskers can replace worn-out padding, fix faulty plugs or jacks, and even repair the hinges of your favourite headphones. They can also help you isolate whether the problem is with your headphones or with the connected device, such as your laptop.

Hifi repair

Hifi repair includes fixing problems with the power board, disc tray, and other common issues that hifi owners may encounter.

Speaker repair

If your speakers are starting to act up and are disrupting your family’s movie night or dinner party, it’s time to have them checked by a Tasker near you. They can fix common audio problems, such as distorted sound or malfunctioning surround sound.

Amplifier repair

Taskers can assess and fix problems with your amp, including overheating and humming noises. The result? More hours of enjoying the music you love at full blast.

Circuit board repair

This is a more specific type of electronics repair since you or the Tasker have zeroed in on the circuit board as the cause of faulty device. Taskers can fix damaged pads or broken traces on the circuit board of your printer, laptop, amplifier, or microwave. Once the repair is done, they can help you assemble the device again to check if the repair is successful.

Drone repair

Drone repair specialists can fix problems like abnormal flight direction, faulty batteries, blocked GPS signals, and more.

Console repair

Whether you own a Wii, PS4, or Xbox, you can find a Tasker who can get it up and running again. Common problems they can fix include failed updates, freezing screens, or consoles that abruptly shut down.

Tablet repair

Have you got an iPad or an Android tablet that’s giving you a headache? Consider hiring a Tasker near you. They can assess your tablet’s issues, do necessary repairs, and have it up and running again.

Replace 2 Ceiling Light Fixtures & Install Lampshades + broken switch

£180

Brighton, East Sussex

26th Jan 2026

Task: Replace 2 Ceiling Light Fixtures & Hang Lampshades I’d like to update the light fittings in two rooms: • Bedroom: Remove current pendant with multiple hanging cables and install a single cable fitting suitable for a standard lampshade (single bulb). Then hang the new lampshade. • Living/Dining Room: Remove existing chandelier-style pendant and replace with a simple fitting for the same type of bulb as the bedroom. Then hang the new lampshade. Please ensure both lights are safely installed, wiring checked, and compatible with standard lampshades. Task 2: The switch appears to be broken and isn’t working properly. After removing the cover, it looks like something may be wrong with the wiring/cables behind the switch. Because of this, I don’t think it’s safe to use, and it likely needs to be checked and repaired by a professional.

Ashley was super helpful, very quick and did everything exactly the way we wanted it! Highly recommend him!

Two ethernet socket extension in upstairs room

£250

Summerstown, Greater London

9th Nov 2025

I want two ethernet socket connections fitted in upstairs bedrooms on second floor. Today my internet connection enters the house in downstairs living room and I want to extend connectivity to upstairs bedroom from the outside for gaming in bedrooms. Note and quote for small complexity that external roof runs high on bedroom walls. I am relisting this as I ideally want extensions to come from fibre optics not router (Cat 5/6) and run out outside of house (previous Airtasker accepted quote fell through for this reason). Images of in-/outside added with brief descriptions

I hired Simone to complete some broadband wiring extension work. He went the extra mile to work things out and the work was really good
