My computer starts, but nothing shows on my monitor. Need help please.

We have a printer in our office building, but no one knows how to use it and it isn't linking up to anyones laptop to be able to print. We are looking for someone to come in and troubleshoot the problem so that we can have all employees printing from the printer when they need. It shouldn't take longer than an hour to do.
