Inspecting the gutters
Your hired tradie begins your roof gutter repair by going up on your roof to inspect every component of your guttering system. If your gutters are clogged with dead leaves, twigs and other debris, some gutter repair experts can clean this out.
They can check each section of the gutters for corrosion, leaks, holes, broken sections, clogged areas and other issues. They can also check for damage on gutter-related parts like fascia boards. Some gutter repair experts can fix or replace damaged or rotted fascia boards. After determining the cause of any issues, they perform the appropriate fixes.
Cleaning out gutters
Your gutter repair expert can do simple cleaning of your gutters, and this can include removing debris like twigs, dead leaves, clumped up dirt or even bird’s nests. Some parts of your gutter may be damaged beyond any patch-up job. Your hired tradesman can replace any damaged part of the gutters to ensure it continues to divert water runoff to your drainage system. Some gutter repair experts can replace soffits or fascia boards if the damage is severe.
If there is more severe damage to the fascia boards, soffits or other larger parts that make up your guttering, you may need to hire a carpenter.
Fixing gutter leaks
Your hired gutter repair expert checks your downpipes for leaks or breaks. It’s vital to ensure the downpipes divert all the water from your roof straight to your drain as any downpour can damage your landscaping. They also check that it isn’t clogged by twigs, dead leaves or other debris.
If your gutter repair specialist recommends getting rid of large pests like snakes or rodents first, you may hire a pest control service.
