Hi, I would like a quote to replace/upgrade the bathroom ceiling. Bathroom size: approximately 175 cm x 360 cm. The existing ceiling has removable panels, and there is a lot of plumbing/services above it from the unit upstairs, including a ceiling-mounted shower head. Scope requested: * inspect the existing ceiling frame and advise what can be retained; * install a new flat, moisture-resistant Gyprock/plasterboard ceiling suitable for a bathroom; * provide a practical removable access section/panel for plumbing and services above the ceiling; * ensure access remains available around the ceiling shower head and any valves or plumbing connections; * set, tape and finish all fixed Gyprock joints ready for painting; * make good the perimeter where the ceiling meets the walls. My preference is for the ceiling to look like a normal clean Gyprock ceiling, but with a discreet removable access panel or removable section where needed. Please advise the best layout and size for the access area, and whether a fixed central panel with removable surrounding panels would work better. Please include labour, framing/materials, access panels, plastering and disposal of old ceiling materials in the quote. I would like an experienced carpenter/builder to rebuild the lower section of a gyprock wall (laundry) where moisture has caused the timber bottom plate and bottom of studs to rot & crumble away. In 2-5 years, I would like to rebuild this entire room (as understand the issue is bigger than this one wall!), but for now, would simply like the wall made structurally sound and rotten material replaced with moisture-resistant alternatives to buy me some time before I plan a bigger renovation. Will need to make the studs structurally sound (add something to support them at the bottom as no longer touching concrete base), add new bottom plate (something moisture-resistant please), and replace the missing gyprock & door framing. I've removed lots of the damaged materials so you can clearly see the issue!
