The unit is 44m² in total and I’ve already laid roughly 10m², so there’s about 34m² left to go. It’s 8mm water resistant laminate (Tasmanian Oak) being installed as a floating floor over the existing timber floorboards. The remaining areas are the living/dining, kitchen and hallway. All the flooring material has already been purchased and is sitting in the middle of the unit, so there’s nothing to source, quote or pick up. All the doors have also already been trimmed down to accommodate the new floor height. There’s minimal furniture and anything in the way will be relocated before work starts. The rooms are simple and mostly rectangular. The only fiddly area in the whole job is one small linen press. Scotia and door thresholds to be fitted as part of the job, and I’d ask that offcuts and packaging are stacked in one spot for me to dispose of afterwards. Sand and polish timber floors in a small 3 bedroom home. Approximately 75 sq meters of flooring.

I purchased a old house and the bedrooms and living rooms have nice polished floors. However the dining room, sunroom area and another small room have ugly laminate. Some of the laminate is coming apart from the edges and one small room has old carpet which I pulled off and you can see the hard wood. Just wondering should I take the risk and remove all the laminate and get it polished to match the other nice rooms. Any recommendations? I’m scared if I pulled all the laminate off the underneath wood will be bad, not sure why the previous owner never polished the whole house
