Hi, I recently had electrical compliance check done for my house and below points were identified as requiring immediate attention 1. Not all switches and protective devices are correctly labelled on the switchboard. This will require investigation of the purpose of all electrical circuits in the property, identify whether they are protected by a Residual Current Device (RCD) and application of a label on each circuit on the switchboard accordingly. 2. Cable entry and exit holes into the switchboard enclosure are greater than permissible under fire regulations. Where the gaps that allow the electrical cables to pass from the house to the switchboard enclosure exceed approx. 5mm, the hole will be filled with fire retardant filler. 3 Earthing conductors in the switchboard are incorrectly connected to the earth bar and/or neutral bar. 4 Power point at the lounge room and cables at the carport is not adequately supported. 5 The 1st light fitting in the kitchen is not connected to the properties main earth system. The main earth system allows the safety devices on the switchboard to protect a person in a circumstance where they may be electrocuted. It might be necessary to run a new cable from the switchboard to the effected appliance or replace a new power point in order to rectify a failed main earth test. 6 The 2nd light fitting in the kitchen is not connected to the properties main earth system. The main earth system allows the safety devices on the switchboard to protect a person in a circumstance where they may be electrocuted. It might be necessary to run a new cable from the switchboard to the effected appliance or replace a new power point in order to rectify a failed main earth test. 7 The main earthing conductor is faulty. 8 Cables at the shed are damaged and have no mechanical protection.
