Garage light not working . Have changed the tube light but still not working.

My bedroom light fitting suddenly fell this morning - it seems the plaster gave way around the screws. I have a good stepladder but need someone tall to re-fit the light. The electrical wires are still intact. See photos. I don't think there's any need to patch plaster, since the light fitting will cover the holes. Unless the strength of the plaster is compromised... Edited to add - just noticed one of the clips on the oyster light has snapped, wondering if someone might have a spare, if they're available from Bunnings, or if I need to buy an entire new light fitting.
