Hello, We are looking for an experienced carpenter, joiner, or skilled handyman to inspect and secure some retail shelving at our store, in Epping. The Issue: Several layers of our custom wall-mounted shelving units have started to pull away from the wall. This is a significant safety concern as we are worried about their stability and the risk of collapse. The shelves appear to be glued and possibly screwed to the wall, and some of these connections have failed. The Job: This is primarily an "inspect and secure" job. The scope of work includes: 1. Attending the site to thoroughly assess the structure and stability of the entire wall shelving unit. 2. Identifying all the points where the shelves have detached from the wall. 3. Supplying and installing small, discreet L-brackets underneath the affected shelves to securely re-fasten them to the wall. 4. Ensuring the installed brackets are strong, neatly fitted, and provide robust support to prevent any further movement. 5. Leaving the area clean and tidy. The primary goal is to make the shelving safe and secure. Please note: The successful contractor MUST supply all necessary materials, including appropriate L-brackets and wall fixings (e.g., plasterboard anchors, screws). Hi there, I’ve just moved into the property and I’m looking to get a dog ramp built on my staircase leading into the backyard. My dog has hip dysplasia, so I need something functional and sturdy to help him get up and down safely. I’d like the ramp to be positioned on the left-hand side of the stairs, where the brick wall is. It doesn’t need to be anything fancy—just strong and practical. Ideally, it should be around 300–400mm wide. The total length is roughly 3 metres, though I’m not sure if it’ll need to bend around the corner—I’ll leave that to your professional advice. I’d also need a small side rail or edge along the ramp to prevent my dog from jumping off straight onto the stairs. One of the steps has some rendering coming loose, which I can remove if needed to make installation easier—just let me know. I'm somewhat flexible as i have 'guesstimated' on price and happy to arrange a site visit if you want to quote more directly. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks!
