I'm looking for a quote to repair and replace the bottom weather seal on my garage door. I have already purchased: A new bottom rubber weather seal. A new aluminum bottom retainer/rail. The existing aluminum bottom retainer has come loose from the bottom of the garage door and needs to be securely reattached or replaced. I'm not sure if the new straight aluminum retainer I purchased is compatible with my garage door, so I'd like you to assess whether it can be installed or if another retainer would be more suitable. I'm looking for a professional installation that includes: Assessing the existing bottom retainer and the new replacement retainer. Securely installing the new aluminum retainer (or reattaching/replacing the existing one if more appropriate). Installing the supplied bottom weather seal. Ensuring the door seals evenly against the floor with no gaps. Making sure the retainer is straight, securely fixed, and provides a neat, flush, and professional finish. Please include labour and any additional materials required (excluding the seal and aluminum retainer, which I will supply). If you recommend a different retainer, please explain why and include it as an optional item in the quote. Hi, I need an experienced garage door technician for my Steel-Line ST50EVOB1 sectional opener in Williams Landing, VIC 3027. What happened: - When I tried to operate it, the motor made a rapid "clicking/chattering" noise and the door jammed and wouldn't move. - I switched the garage circuit off and on at the switchboard. After that the motor/belt would run but the trolley wouldn't stay engaged. - I pulled the red manual-release cord and the door now opens and closes smoothly by hand, so the springs/balance seem OK. - I got the trolley to re-engage, but now when I press the button the motor only moves a short distance and stops — pressing again (even in the other direction) only "jogs" it a little, then it stops. - I also tried to reset the travel limits following the manual (pressed P until the LED flashed, then held +), but the door still won't drive up properly and the reset didn't fix it. I suspect lost or incorrect travel-limit / force settings, but possibly also a worn drive gear / trolley or a control-board issue, given the original clicking and jam. What I need: - Diagnose the fault and repair it — could involve the travel limits/force settings, the trolley/drive gear, the control board/motor, or the springs/cables/track. - Get the opener working as expected again. - Confirm the door opens and closes normally from the wall button and remote, and pass the required safety test. - Please give me an upfront quote before any work, and let me know if any parts are needed (and rough cost). The door is currently closed and safe, so there's no urgency for an after-hours call-out — a normal scheduled visit is fine.
