The job consists of three parts:Internal Door Replacement & Painting:I have a standard internal hollow-core bedroom door with multiple holes that needs a complete replacement. You will need to source a matching primed MDF flush door blank from Bunnings West Footscray (approx. 8 mins away), transport it to the apartment, trim it to fit the frame, chisel out the hinges, swap over the handle hardware, and hang it. You will also need to apply two coats of matching interior door paint (usually semi-gloss white).Plaster Wall Repair & Painting:There is one horizontal rectangular cutout hole in the plasterboard wall (approx. 20-30cm wide). This needs to be repaired using a timber backing block, a matching plasterboard patch piece, taped, flushed, and sanded completely smooth. You will need to take a small flake of the current wall paint to Bunnings to get an exact color match (1L tin) and paint the patched area so it blends seamlessly with the rest of the wall.Cleanup & Disposal:Please ensure plastic drop sheets are used to protect the carpet from plaster dust and paint drips. Repair water-damaged exterior MDF door (Footscray, Melbourne) Looking for a handyman or carpenter to repair water damage to the bottom of an exterior MDF door. Damage limited to the lower edge and lower-right corner where rainwater has occasionally gotten underneath the door during heavy weather. The MDF has swollen and delaminated in this area (see photos). I'd like the damaged material assessed and repaired where practical rather than replacing the entire door. - Remove/cut back damaged and loose MDF. - Rebuild/fill damaged area with a suitable exterior-grade product. - Sand smooth and prepare for painting. - Seal the repaired area against future moisture. - Install a suitable solution to reduce future water ingress (e.g. door sweep, weather seal, drip strip, aluminium kick plate, or similar). The front door is on a period Home - in diff seasons it wont shut. In winter it wont close or open properly - In summer it is Ok. It probably needs shaved or something.
