Help fixing a glass table

There's a small table that's approximately 50cm x 70cm and it is made out of wood, I applied a little pressure and it has broken, the wood has snapped and I need it fixed. I think it is birch wood. Wood glue would do or any methods to fix it would be appreciated. Now this is the tricky part, I don't want you to fix it, rather just guide me on how to do it, i.e, lend me the equipment you have and guide me on how I should go about fixing it. Please let me know.

This is a very heavy homemade vegetable garden that I need to remove from an apartment balcony. I am not sure how to approach it as it will need to go across a stretch of cream carpet. In addition the watering system just needs fixing. The vegetable garden is getting too much water (and once removed needs none) and my other plants are getting no water and are dying.
