Find an experienced handyman in Blackburn

Looking for a handy, flexible all-rounder for about four hours on Saturday 24 Oct (Sunday 25th also works). It's general help around the house: a mix of small jobs, plus possibly a quick run to the nearby Bunnings for bits we need (materials reimbursed). A car would help. You don't need to finish everything; I just want four solid hours of help, and we'll get through what we can. Roughly in priority order: 1. Touch up and finish painting the living/dining room (paint and gear on site) 2. Install a blackout blind in the office (please bring a drill) 3. Rehang the curtain rod and curtain in the master bedroom 4. Fit a toilet roll holder, and fix the kitchen blind cord cleat to the wall 5. Fit adhesive rubber window seal to a few windows 6. Get the garden irrigation running again (one zone may need a battery) 7. Remove leftover painter's tape from the floors, clean the kitchen grill, pack tools into the garage and give it a sweep Please bring basic tools. Street parking available.

The door is 2.1 x 1.8 m remove old door and install new door and a fly screen as well. Need to take the old door off as well

need someone to repair/realign a pivot glass shower door. The door has gone slightly out of alignment, causing the two glass edges to rub against each other from about halfway down. There is no noticeable vertical movement in the pivots.

These are 4 plaster patches need to fill the gap with tape and also sand it. Make it ready for the paint.

Handle from sliding door has come off. Despite the handle being detached, the door remains functional and is still able to slide open and closed normally.

I have a vertical slat blind that slides open to the right, however it won’t rotate open or close. When pulling the chain up and down the chain moves and you can hear it clicking but the slats won’t rotate to open or close. Anyone who can fix this? Was going to just replace the whole track. Would prefer someone who can supply parts to fix it and repair it.

I need five doors trimmed we had carpet installed and had to take off two doors and 3 cupboard doors. I also have a new dishwasher and the hoses are at rh bottom so need to have another hole to install in its place

The job: • Mount a 1200x800mm plywood pegboard using a split batten system — two horizontal timber battens need to be screwed to the wall, and the panel hooks onto them • Wall is standard plasterboard over timber stud framing • Battens and panel supplied What I need from you: • Stud finder (or ability to locate studs) • Spirit level to ensure battens are perfectly horizontal • Drill and appropriate screws/anchors for plasterboard wall Ideal tasker: • Experience with wall mounting on plasterboard • Knows how to locate studs and use appropriate fixings for the load • Has own tools Happy to be home during the job and can assist with lifting/holding the panel.
