Just need a quick check of gas connections, leaks, and overall safety/compliance, and a compliance sign-off if all is okay. If required, a gas isolation valve may need to be added underneath the cooktop. A cement sheet has been installed behind the tiled wall for heat protection due to slightly reduced clearance (around 125mm). Need to disconnect and block off gas stove. Also check for leaks while in there so it’s not left dodgy, but also shut off mains as gas is no longer needed. I’m getting the stove removed the following day hence the deadline. Can be any time on Tuesday from 9 until late. Other info: single story home, about 80 years old.

Hi everyone, I am looking for a licensed plumber or gas fitter to permanently disconnect and cap the gas line to my broken cooktop so I can safely have an electric induction unit installed later. My current setup is a standard 60cm gas cooktop sitting directly above a Westinghouse electric wall oven. The gas is currently turned off at the main valve and the benchtop is laminate. I need you to safely disconnect the broken gas cooktop and permanently cap the gas pipe behind the oven. You will also need to test the line to ensure there are absolutely no leaks and issue a VBA Gas Compliance Certificate, which is mandatory for me to proceed with the electrical stage. Please leave the decommissioned cooktop sitting in the benchtop cutout once disconnected. My electrician will remove and dispose of it later to ensure dust and debris do not fall into the exposed oven casing in the meantime. You do not need to do any physical removal or electrical work.
