The handle works perfectly from the outside with a bit of tension when pushing the handle down to open. From the side you can see the door mechanism working perfectly. But from the inside, the handle has collapsed, hanging down so the mechanism is completely broken even though the handle is still attached.

My cat has broken the door handle to the kitchen trying to force his way in. He’s not allowed in there as he eats laundry pods, sponges etc. the handle is now really loose and feels like there’s no resistance when you push it down. I’ve tried to take it apart but can’t seem to make any sense of it. The handles also now move down when you press the latch in which they didn’t do before.
