Hello,I have fire doors that need repair The doors were found to require remedial attention to ensure compliance with fire safety standards following fire risk assessment •Kitchen Door: •Missing screws on the hinges •Bottom section of the smoke seal was absent •Top section of the smoke seal was damaged on the closing edge •Door did not fully close into its rebate •Lounge Door: •Handle was missing •Electrical Cupboard Door: •Not fire-resisting and therefore unsuitable for its location •Ground Floor Bedroom Door: •Did not fully close into its rebate •Smoke seals had been painted, compromising their effectiveness •First Floor Bedroom Doors: •All were missing screws •None closed fully into their rebates •Smoke seals had been painted •The front left bedroom door had an excessive top gap exceeding the 4mm tolerance and a loose handle Action Required: To ensure compliance with fire safety the following remedial actions were recommended: 1.Kitchen Door: •Refit all hinge screws to ensure secure fixing. •Replace the damaged and missing smoke seals with new, compliant intumescent strips. •Adjust or repair the door so it fully closes into its rebate under its own power. 2.Lounge Door: •Install a compliant door handle to ensure proper operation. 3.Electrical Cupboard Door: •Replace the existing door with a fire-resisting door set rated appropriately for the risk and location (typically FD30 or as required by the relevant fire strategy). 4.Ground Floor Bedroom Door: •Adjust the door to ensure it closes fully into its rebate. •Remove paint from smoke seals or replace with new intumescent strips to maintain proper sealing in the event of a fire. 5.First Floor Bedroom Doors: •Re-secure all door hinges with appropriate screws. •Adjust doors to ensure full closure into their rebates. •Remove paint from all smoke seals or replace them where necessary. •Rectify the excessive gap at the top of the front left bedroom door (must not exceed 4mm).
