Your Tasker usually starts by removing the old front plate. Before they disconnect the body, they keep the wires labelled and identified to make it easier to reconnect the new thermostat later on. Then, they unscrew the old mounting plate from the wall.

Fitting the new thermostat
Taskers follow the recommended installation steps from the manufacturer. Usually, it starts by connecting the new plate on the wall and then reconnecting the labelled wires in their corresponding terminals. All excess and loosened wires are then pushed back into the wall. The last step is the mounting of the cover plate.
With a properly installed thermostat, it should be easier to maintain an ideal indoor temperature without the need to leave your AC on full blast. But if you want to cut down your energy and electrical consumption, you might also want to consider insulating your room through walls or ceilings.
Configuration and final testing
To confirm the success of the installation, you need to turn the power back on and reset the setting of your new thermostat. Your Tasker can help you program the unit as per the user manual. If you're using a smart thermostat, they can connect them to your wireless network and then try controlling from a third-party device, like a smartphone or tablet. Primarily, the boiler needs serving. It's working and does the job but hasn't been serviced recently so needs doing. The mains water stopcock has developed a leak and that needs sorting and cleaning. Additionally, the radiators throughout the flat are sporadic and have a mind of their own, sometimes coming on when not needed and failing to come on when they are needed in spite of automatic timing controls on the boiler. This may be a thermostat control issue. Would like this diagnosed and fixed. Rads also need bleeding every now and then which I would like resolved. One last thing, and this is only if possible. If you are a qualified electrician as well as gas safe qualified I have a bathroom extractor fan that doesn't automatically turn itself off. The mains switch for it has developed a fault and can't be "switched" to the off position either. If you are also qualified as an electrician then let me know here and maybe you could take a look at that too.

New navien boiler with nest system was installed around 2 years ago but has never worked properly. Radiators are very hot even when Nest claims not to be able heating. Some radiators don't work at all. Boiler sometimes depressurises. Looking for a highly experienced heating engineer who can try to get the system working more efficiently.
