Your Tasker usually starts by removing the old front plate. Before they disconnect the body, they keep the wires labelled and identified to make it easier to reconnect the new thermostat later on. Then, they unscrew the old mounting plate from the wall.
Need help with disposing of your old thermostat? Unlike regular trash, they shouldn't simply go to your kerbside collection. Instead, you can hire a clearance specialist to collect them and hand them over to a hazardous waste drop-off site.Â
Fitting the new thermostat
Taskers follow the recommended installation steps from the manufacturer. Usually, it starts by connecting the new plate on the wall and then reconnecting the labelled wires in their corresponding terminals. All excess and loosened wires are then pushed back into the wall. The last step is the mounting of the cover plate.

Configuration and final testing

I have a new Drayton thermostat installed (see photo) but the hub is not working. The hub is hard wired to the wall and receives power directly from the mains through its backplate.
