In my shower a braided hose with the red markings shows significant rust/corrosion where it bends into the metal fitting. There is also rust staining around the upper threaded connection on the beige valve body. The white mineral deposits on nearby parts indicate water has been leaking for some time, not just a recent drip. The leak could be caused by: A failed braided hose (inner rubber liner deteriorated and water escaping near the crimped fitting). A loose or damaged compression fitting/nut where the hose attaches. A worn rubber washer or O-ring inside the hose connection.
