Move two heavy boxes from London to belfast
£60
Lower Holloway, Greater London, N7
29th Sep 2024
Hi I want someone to move a box from my old flat in London (N78QE) to my new house in Belfast (BT73FE). There is one large cardboard box 50× 50 ×50cm weighing 15-20kgs. There is one medium size about 30 × 30 × 45cm weighing 15kg. They are in my old flatmates room on top of a cupboard. You would need to greet my flatmates, collect the boxes, bring them down 4 flights of stairs (no lift) to your vehicle, then get them to my house in belfast. I can meet you at the house and take it from there. The boxes contain random things like clothes and picture frames, nothing valuable, sharp, toxic or explosive. Thanks Luke

Why book London to Belfast removals experts through Airtasker?
Moving from London to Belfast isn’t just a change of address, and the journey itself is no small undertaking either. This route covers around 700 to 750 kilometres and usually takes 10 to 12 hours once you factor in the drive north via M1 or A5 and the Cairnryan ferry crossing to Belfast.
Renting a van and roping in a few favours can sound manageable at first, but that confidence often fades somewhere north of the Midlands, when peak traffic around the Westlink, Sydenham By-pass, and Lisburn can quickly derail even the best-laid plans.Â
Booking a London to Belfast removals expert through Airtasker means you’re hiring someone who’s done this run enough times to know exactly how to pack a truck for 700 to 750 kilometres of highway. And they do far more than drive from points A to B. They know how to load securely, protect your belongings for a sea crossing, and keep everything running smoothly from busy London streets to your new front door.

Top London to Belfast Removals related questions
People move to Belfast for many reasons. For some, it’s a change of pace, swapping the fast-paced, crowded rhythm of the capital for something a little more balanced. Others relocate for business opportunities, returning closer to family, or as a strategic move that places them near both London and Dublin.
This cross-channel trip is considered a long-distance move, covering roughly 700 to 750 kilometres. Estimated moving costs sit between £1,500 and £5,000+, with fuel costs fluctuating and often charged separately. The final price also depends on several factors, including how much you’re moving, property access at both ends, ferry fees, fuel costs, and whether you require packing materials or a full packing service.
Data from Airtasker shows that August is the busiest month for London to Belfast removals, while February tends to be the quietest. August suits many people because of the summer holidays, longer daylight hours, and generally easier scheduling for ferry crossings and delivery times. February, on the other hand, can be a great option if you’re flexible. Since it yields fewer bookings, you may find better availability and more choice of dates.
Most London to Belfast removals experts bring standard equipment like hand trolleys, dollies, straps, and moving blankets, but what else they provide depends on your specific move and what you’ve agreed on. When posting your task, be clear about what you’re moving and ask upfront if they supply packing materials, furniture disassembly tools, or protective covers for specialty items.
Include how many rooms you’re moving, whether there are stairs at either property, any oversized or fragile items that need extra care, and your preferred moving dates. Add photos of your furniture so movers can assess the job accurately, and mention parking availability and access restrictions at both your London and Belfastaddresses.
Pack fragile items with bubble wrap and packing papers, use sturdy boxes, and label everything clearly so your London to Belfast removals expert knows what needs extra care. Fill empty spaces in boxes with inflatable air bags, peanut foam, or towels to prevent items from shifting, and disassemble furniture where possible to minimise the risk of damage.
Packing and unpacking services are often available but not always included in the base quote, so it's important to specify what you need when posting your task. Packing costs vary depending on the volume of items, materials required, and time involved, which is why confirming these details upfront helps you get accurate quotes.
Rubbish and furniture disposal aren't typically part of standard moving services, but many Taskers can handle it if you ask. When posting your task, mention if you need old furniture, boxes, or unwanted items cleared out before or after your move. You can also book rubbish disposal as a separate service on Airtasker if you prefer to coordinate everything at once.

What does London to Belfast removals include?
Official data from the Northern Ireland government shows that Belfast’s population reached around 350,500 by mid-2024. Famed for its maritime heritage and landmarks such as the Titanic Belfast museum, the city attracts many newcomers from London drawn by its mix of urban energy and strong community feel.Â
That growth, however, also brings practical considerations for anyone relocating, including heavier peak-time traffic around Queen’s Quarter and the Ormeau Road. To ensure a smooth, well-timed relocation, consider booking professional help instead of doing it yourself.Â
In total, Airtasker has recorded 200,000+ removals-related tasks across London and its surrounding suburbs. And last year alone, there were 3000+ active and verified Taskers that have successfully completed removals-related jobs in the area. This strong local presence makes sure that you can quickly connect with an experienced removals expert whenever you need help with your London to Belfast move.
With an average rating of 4.0 stars for removals tasks completed in London, these professionals have established a reputation for providing reliable, meticulous, and consistent service. Most London to Belfast removals experts offer a range of different services depending on what you’re moving and how you prefer it handled. But most of the time, their services typically include:
Moving furniture from London to Belfast
Your booked London to Belfast removals expert will handle the physical work of getting your furniture from one city to another. They may use trolleys, dollies, and straps to safely move heavy or awkward pieces and keep everything secure over the long trip. Then, they plan the unload based on where you’re headed in Belfast. For instance, a ground-floor access in Ballyhackamore gets packed differently from a third-floor walk-up in Belmont or a steep driveway in Bloomfield.
Before the move, many London to Belfast removals experts also offer furniture disassembly services if your bed frame or wardrobe won’t fit through the door assembled. And once you arrive in Belfast, they may even help reassemble everything, as long as this extra task is communicated to them beforehand.Â
Pro tip: You can also book a move-in cleaning for your new place, or a handyman to help with any small repairs after the move.
Moving appliances from London to Belfast
Your London to Belfast removals service may also include moving your appliances, such as fridges, washing machines, and dishwashers. These appliances have coils, compressors, and electrical components that can be damaged if they’re not properly disconnected, secured, and transported, so it’s crucial to leave this task to a pro.Â
Your London to Belfast removals expert can even help position your appliances correctly, be it in your new apartment in Gilnahirk or a new house in Cherryvalley. And if you need help with the reconnection or installation of your appliances, it would be more ideal to book electricians for safe wiring or plumbers for water line hookups on Airtasker.Â
Moving fragile items from London to Belfast
Another key service that you may request from your London to Belfast removals expert is moving items that are fragile, valuable, and hard to replace. It could be your grand piano that your kids learned on, a pool table that’s hosted countless games with your friends, or gym equipment you’ve built your routine around. We all know that these pieces can't just be thrown in the back of a truck.
Removals experts who specialise in fragile items use thick moving blankets, custom padding, and secure strapping to protect against jolts and vibration during transport. Whether you’re moving into Cherryvalley or Newtownabbey, they handle the heavy lifting and careful placement so your items arrive intact. You can also explore home gym ideas on Airtasker to prepare your space before you move, or book pool table assemblers to get everything set up once you’re settled.
Organising a return load or backload from London to Belfast
A return load or backloading service means you’re filling spare truck space on a route that a removals expert is already driving, which significantly cuts your costs. Since it relies on regular trips, it’s especially common on busy corridors like London to Belfast, as well as in high-demand areas such as Greater Manchester, the West Midlands, and Kent.
Organising a backload works best if you’re planning smaller moves, like relocating to a dorm at the Queen’s University Belfast with just a bedroom’s worth of stuff. Since it’s way cheaper, it’s also best if you’re relocating on a tight budget, or if you don’t need an entire truckload moved at once. Once you’ve locked in timing with your preferred backloader, they’ll collect your items in London and drop them off in Belfast, covering areas such as Ballyhackamore, Belmont, Bloomfield, and Gilnahirk.
If you need guaranteed timing or have a full household to move, a dedicated removal truck is the better choice, but for flexibility and cost savings, a return load or backloading gets the job done.
