Find experienced local gardeners in South Hornchurch

Gardening services range from basic mowing and maintenance to full landscape gardening help. Here are some of the most common gardening services near you and what you can expect from each when you hire a gardener near you on Airtasker:

General garden maintenance & lawn mowing

Regular garden maintenance is important to keep your property neat, under control, and looking its best. Gardeners apply their knowledge of local weather patterns and the specific conditions of the area to their gardening practices. Whether you need a one-off tidy-up, maintenance while you’re away on holiday, or regular upkeep, a gardener can help.

Lawn mowing will start by clearing the area with a general garden tidy-up. Then your gardener will mow all grass areas, including your front and back lawn and footpath. They’ll use the brushcutter to whipper snip any edges. Gardeners can also prune your trees, hedge trimming, rake leaves, and clean your garden to remove debris.

Weeding & pest control

Gardens can struggle to flourish thanks to problems like weeds and pests that eat or crowd out your plants and lawn. As part of routine garden maintenance, your local gardeners can help by weeding your lawn by hand or spraying lawns with herbicides that kill the weeds without affecting the type of grass you’re growing.

Your gardener will also work to prevent weeds in the future by mulching around plants over a layer of newspaper or cardboard, so weeds can’t go through. Your gardener will treat unwanted pests using pesticides, tailoring the treatment to keep your home and garden free from spiders, caterpillars, cockroaches, and ants.

Garden planting from professional gardeners

Need to fill out your garden bed or plant up a new section in your garden? Your gardener can help choose the right plants that will grow well in your garden. They’ll consider factors like optimum plant positioning, sunlight levels, moisture levels and rainfall, seasons, native vs. introduced species, maintenance needs, and more. They’ll recommend plants for your garden that will adapt to the conditions of your surroundings but also match the level of care and maintenance you (or your gardener) can provide.

Lawn restoration and additional garden services

If your lawn’s been overrun by weeds or it’s looking a bit dead or bare in patches, your gardener can help with lawn restoration and turfing, too. Part of lawn maintenance and gardening work is levelling out any holes, aerating the lawn to encourage healthy growth, adding nutrients, spreading the correct seed variety, and adjusting the pH of your soil. Whatever needs to be taken away following the lawn maintenance will be added to the garden clearance.

They’ll choose the right variety of lawns to lay turf or seed your lawn. Finally, they’ll water it all in, ensuring you know proper lawn care measures between visits, or set up irrigation for daily automatic watering.

Additional gardening services on top of regular lawn care include pressure washing or jet washing driveways and patio cleaning to remove moss or garden residue that makes the surfaces slippery. Some even offer deliveries from local garden centres.
