What does a car service include?

Oil and oil filter change
An oil and oil filter change will help your car run smoothly and increase fuel efficiency. It’s one of the most important parts of a service and should be included in both minor and major services. Your mechanic will find the oil drain plug, loosen and unscrew it, and carefully allow the old oil to drain into a pan. A minor service includes an oil and filter change; an under-body and under-bonnet inspection; a top-up of all key fluids in the engine, including washer fluid, brake fluid, antifreeze, and steering fluid; and a check of up to 35 key components, such as lights, tyres, and brakes. Most mechanics will also check the manufacturer guidelines and recommend any additional work your car may need.
Major service
A major service includes all the basic services described above, but will also include an inspection of an additional 15-30 car components to ensure that your vehicle is in the best condition possible. These components can include wheel bearings, shock absorbers, and the air conditioning system. Any parts that need extra work or replacement, such as car batteries or windscreens, will be billed as extra.

I need an experienced auto electrician or car audio specialist to complete repairs on my BMW 530e (G30) after a wiring issue in the driver’s footwell caused multiple faults. 📍 Location: Medway (Strood/Chatham area) 🕒 Flexible on date/time but sooner is preferred. 🔍 What Happened: While driving, the OEM BMW midrange speaker and LED footwell light unit (located beneath the steering wheel) became loose and fell into the pedal area, momentarily obstructing steering and triggering a radiator fan warning. The speaker was found dangling by a broken wire, and the interior light housing was damaged. 🔧 What’s Been Done So Far (BMW Specialist Diagnosed): Replaced a blown 5A fuse related to the engine cooling fan (further faults may require fan/control unit replacement). Repaired a damaged wiring loom in the driver’s footwell area. LED footwell light unit is still broken and needs replacing. OEM speaker wire is still disconnected and appears stuck behind the dashboard. ❗Current Issues to Fix: Locate and reconnect or rewire the OEM speaker behind the lower dashboard/steering column. Replace the LED footwell light unit (can supply part or reimburse). Inspect for any wiring damage that might relate to a new error: “Emergency call system not available” now appearing on the dash. ✅ Looking for Someone Who: Has experience with BMW interior wiring and factory sound systems. Can remove trim cleanly and reconnect or replace broken wires. Can diagnose or advise if the emergency call warning is linked to this fault. Check for any wiring fault that might trigger the SOS/emergency call warning.

Engine over heating. We went to Folkstone the engine didn't over heat but on return journey engine started over heat. I had to turn car heater to full on to reduce the over heating.
