What does a housekeeping service include?

Housekeeping services can include one-off services or regular domestic tasks (daily, weekly, or fortnightly), from cleaning and cooking to even home maintenance. Your housekeeper will bring along all the products and equipment they need to clean and maintain your home - all you need to do is tell them what you need done. Here’s how they can help:

Cleaning

The most common housekeeping service involves cleaning. This could include general cleaning, like vacuumingmoppingdusting, and bathroom cleaning. Or it might include detail cleaning tasks like couchcurtainfloorfridge, and . Depending on the number of tasks you’d like your housekeeper to complete, they may clean for just an hour, or up to the entire day. Your housekeeper will discuss a time that’s convenient for you, the tasks you need done, and the timeframe it should take to complete these tasks. If needed, they can bring their own cleaning supplies, like a vacuum cleaner and feather duster.

Organising and tidying

Many housekeepers offer professional organising services, where they help organise and tidy all areas of your home. This includes desks, filing cabinets, stationery, linen, wardrobes, toys, kitchen cupboards, garage interiors, and more. They’ll pull out all the items, organise them by category, and help you choose what you should keep, donate, or bin. They’ll also help by recommending suitable storage solutions to help you keep your home tidy for longer.

Cooking

Some housekeepers are available to help with cooking in your home. They might prepare a few snacks, or help prep several meals ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about cooking. Your housekeeper will present menu and recipe options for you to choose from and use your ingredient and kitchen supplies to cook everything in your kitchen. Once they’re done, they’ll store the freshly cooked food (with heating instructions) and clean up any mess.

Laundry

Washing and ironing starting to pile up? Housekeepers can help by putting on loads of washing, hanging clothes, loading the dryer, folding washing, ironing, and even putting it away. They’ll check the care labels to ensure appropriate washing/drying methods are used before they start the process. With some extra help, you’ll be all caught up on the laundry in no time.

Home maintenance

Many housekeepers are skilled in basic household maintenance tasks. But if they’re unable to do the job themselves, they’ll help organise and oversee skilled contractors who can help do repairs and maintenance in and around your home.

Home declutter

£10

Belvedere, Greater London

30th Aug 2026

Hello, . I’m looking for someone to help me declutter and organise my home in Belvedere. I have two bedrooms and a living room that need decluttering and organising. My kitchen and bathroom have already been done, so I won’t need help with those areas. The main job will be sorting through and organising the rooms, particularly my children’s room, where I have quite a lot of unwanted clothes and items that need sorting and bagging up for donation or disposal. I would ideally like someone who is comfortable working independently rather than needing me to be involved in every decision. However, anything important, valuable, sentimental, paperwork, or anything you are unsure about should be put aside for me to check rather than being thrown away. Could you please let me know if this is something you can help with, your hourly or daily rate, and your availability? I would also like an idea of how many hours or days you think the job may take. Thank you.

Declutter & organise home, cupboards, toys + ongoing upkeep

£80

Stratford New Town, Greater London

29th Aug 2026

I’m a solo working mum who has finally admitted I need some help getting my house properly organised! The house isn’t dirty (I already have a cleaner) but I’m constantly a step behind with the organising side of life. Things accumulate, cupboards become dumping grounds and I never seem to have the time to properly sort everything and create systems that actually work. I’m looking for someone practical, proactive, non-judgemental and ideally someone who genuinely enjoys organising — the sort of person who sees a chaotic cupboard and thinks “I could sort that!” I work from home, so I’ll be around and can easily answer questions or decide what to keep, donate or get rid of. There’s quite a lot to do: • Two understairs cupboards – completely empty, declutter and reorganise • Airing cupboard – sort and make easy to access • Spare room – cupboards mainly full of toys, games and belongings. I’d love a practical system for storing and rotating toys so it’s easy to change what she has out • Various bags/bits of household clutter that need sorting and finding proper homes I’d like to start with 4–5 hours and, if we get on well, ideally find someone who can come back roughly once a month for a few hours to keep things on track -folding/putting away laundry, toy organisation, cupboards, clutter and general household reset. Daytime while my girl is at school would be ideal, although I can be flexible for the right person. I’m particularly interested in someone with excellent reviews and experience organising family homes and children’s things. I’m also part of a large network of solo mums locally, so there could potentially be recommendations for further work if we get on well. If you genuinely enjoy turning chaotic spaces into organised, practical ones, I’d love to hear from you!

Help me organise my loft

£90

Seven Kings, Greater London, IG3

6th Aug 2026

I'm looking for someone to help me organise my loft tonight from 7:30pm–10:30pm. The job mainly involves: * Sorting and organising stored items. * Grouping similar items together. * Boxing things up and moving some boxes around. * Making space for some furniture that will be going into the loft tomorrow. This is not really a heavy lifting job. Most of the work is sorting, organising and helping decide where things should go. There may be the occasional box to move in an awkward space, but nothing super strenuous. I'm looking for someone who is organised, practical and happy to work through a bit of clutter with me. Please let me know if you're available this evening.

Tracy was a brilliant help. She helped me tidy my loft. This usually takes me days and days on my own. 3 hours together. Done. While brilliantly balancing getting stuff done and out the way and paying attention to detail where it mattered. Thank you!

Luija did an amazing job cleaning my house. The kitchen was spotless, every surface was shining, and she clearly has a great eye for detail. She takes her time and doesn’t rush, which really shows in the results. The shower looked like new after she finished, and she even brought some of her own cleaning products. I’m very happy and would definitely recommend her.
