One of my kitchen cabinet doors had come off due to child climbing on it and the wood part has has broken a little. I've tried to use filler but the holes don't screw in properly with that.

We need to replace an old washing machine, but the cavity space for fitting a new one is very tight, and the door of the neighbouring cabinet will foul on a new machine when fitted. The current machine is slightly narrower and less deep than a standard modern model. We are thinking that if we replaced the current cabinet fitting (slide out door with shelves attached) with a standard hinge door with fitted internal sshelves, we could stop the door fouling. We are then looking to find a way to create 5-10mm additional width in the washing machine cabinet to ensure a new machine can fit (this could be by removing current side fittings and planing?)
