I’m looking for an experienced, appropriately licensed/qualified carpenter to inspect and properly repair an external timber staircase and balustrade. Photos show significant deterioration/wood rot and damaged connections, particularly around the lower post/newel, handrail/balustrade, bracing and lower stair/stringer area. I require a proper, durable structural repair – not a cosmetic patch. The tasker must inspect the staircase, landing, handrails, balustrade, posts, stringers, treads, bracing, fixings and connections and identify components that are rotten, structurally unsound or unsuitable for continued use. Scope must include: • Removal/replacement of deteriorated or structurally unsound timber where required – not simply filling, bogging, screwing over or painting rotten timber. • Proper structural fixing of posts, rails, braces, stringers and affected components using suitable exterior/corrosion-resistant fixings. • Assessment and replacement/reworking of existing brackets or reinforcement where they are not suitable as a permanent repair. • Replacement materials suitable for exposed exterior use and appropriately treated/sealed. • Completed stairs, handrails and balustrade to be structurally sound, secure and fit for purpose. • All work to comply with applicable NCC requirements, Australian Standards and Queensland building requirements. • Removal/disposal of waste and deteriorated timber. The task is complete only when the agreed repairs are finished and the staircase, handrails and balustrade are left safe, structurally sound and compliant for their intended use. Experienced carpenter or highly capable handyman needed for several jobs in a Maroochydore unit. The main job is installing a finished powder-coated balustrade, approximately 2.8m long, above an internal stairwell and alongside a custom TV cabinet. It must be installed neatly, level, securely fixed to suitable structural points and compliant with applicable requirements. No cutting, welding or modification without approval. Other work includes replacing four internal door-handle sets and diagnosing why two recently installed sets seized; installing a support bracket under a small floating desk; removing the existing washing machine and dryer and connecting replacements; measuring, supplying and installing a ventilated cupboard door matching the existing white kitchen cabinetry; installing a unit number without damaging the entry door; and completing some minor repairs and patching. I will supply the balustrade, replacement handles, washing machine and dryer. Other materials and structural fixings can be agreed after inspection. One glass panel has been broken and removed. A new glass panel needs to be supplied and installed. Approximate size: 1100 x 880mm.

Hi Existing metal balustrade on front verandah needs a repaint. Have scratched most of the rust away where it was flaking and just needs some fresh paint. 2 coats, paint supplied as I’ve already bought it. It’s not the Mona Lisa, just needs a better brush hand than what I’ve got. Banyo location, earlier the better.

Replace rotten lower hardwood balustrade rail only x2. Existing post is sound. Reuse existing balusters if possible. Supply matching hardwood, install, prime all cut ends. Painting not required. Price negotiable

We have just raised the height of a balustrade beside a set of external stairs through on-site steel welding. The task now is wire brush the welds to remove any rust and scale, prime all new weld joints and then to paint the balustrade black (monument). This only applies to the new, raised section of the balustrade. The photos show the that balastrad looking down and then looking up as well as a typical welded joint that need to be prepared. The photos also show the lower balustrade already painted black and needing no further work and the new upper work which has been primed grey. There is also some new infill bars in the old section shown in the photo looking up the stairs that need to be painted.

Timber base board and uprights have rotted. Need a qualified handyman to be able to remove the base boards (two of them) and then replace all of the uprights including the three long ones in the middle, finally replacing the base boards with new timber Price negotiable and suitable timber will be supplied with your guidance.

What you need to do: - Collect ProtectorAl aluminium fencing components from Bunnings (we will purchase and arrange) - Install on site: 2800mm straight run + 1000mm return at 90°, mounted to top of masonry wall (approx measurements). - 4 flanged posts dynabolted to masonry, 3 panel sections (2 panels cut to size between pickets) Tools required: hammer drill + 10mm masonry bit, angle grinder or hacksaw for cutting aluminium, level, basic hand tools. Experienced carpenter required to repair two balustrade/handrails that have rotted on our front outdoor stairs. Materials and labour must be included. Quality hardwood must be used.

We are moving house and need someone to please instal some wire for the Balustrade/Deck. We have the wire. All holes are already in the timber, all measure ready to go :) This is quite urgent so would love someone in the next week or so to complete this.
