Hello, I am looking for a licensed plumber or tiler to please inspect the tiles in my bathroom shower. They were regrouted two months ago. The day after I washed down the shower with a cloth to remove all the chalk and in a couple areas some of the new grout came off revealing the old grout beneath it. They had told me that it was removed prior to adding the new grout. There was one person doing it and they had also only worked on removing the old grout and regrouting for 45 minutes telling me they completed the job, which seemed like a very short time to complete that work. The job had been done because there was water going in the cracks in the grout and coming out near my bathroom door. I think there must have been mould in the walls because I was experiencing a lot of allergies at the time. The allergies have returned again in the past 2 weeks whenever I am in the bathroom. The company says they will fix the areas that show the old grout, but only those areas when I believe it is the whole shower affected. I wish for a professional to tell me honestly if this has been completed as described and provide it in writing.

Scope of works: Tiling of 2 kitchen walls (1600x560mm and 2300x580mm) between the benchtops and the cabinets in place. The walls have had the previous tiles removed, with some adhesive left on the drywall and some drywall damage (as per the photos). One wall has 2 double sockets and the other wall has a switch for the oven. The white ceramic tiles supplied are 600 X 300mm (we have 18 pieces). Start tiling from the benchtop up in a grid pattern (so that full tiles are at the bottom and the top row tiles are the ones cut). The rangehood is exactly 600mm wide and above the cooktop; one vertical row of tiles needs to align to both the rangehood and the cooktop, this row will determine the rest of the cuts required. Tasks to be performed: ♣ Protect kitchen benchtops and work area before you start ♣ Prepare the drywall (previous tiles have been removed, there’s some damage to the drywall and adhesive residue) ♣ Laying out tiles using adhesive ♣ Cutting tiles with special tools (There are 3 existing wall sockets that will require tile cutting) ♣ Ensuring that tiles are correctly spaced at 1.5mm and levelled ♣ Remove excess adhesive ♣ Peepare, apply and clean excess grout ♣ Clean and polish the tiles ♣ Apply the caulk/silicone ♣ Clean the work area. We will provide the tiles and pay for labour and parts (grout mix, tile adhesive, caulk/silicone, tile spacers). ♣ All quotes must indicate whether the price is GST exclusive or inclusive. ♣ Please list any exclusions in your quote.
