Find an experienced handyman in Ringwood VIC

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice and possibly a recommendation for someone who can help with a sliding door installation. I have a laundry room where the original door is missing, but there is still some of the old sliding door track left. I’m not sure how the previous owner had it set up. The opening is approximately 2150mm wide x 2050mm high. I found these Hume Doors & Timber 2040 x 720x 35mm Internal Door Primed MDF Flush H1 doors at Bunnings. They look like they should match the other internal doors in my house, so I’m thinking of buying three of them and installing them as sliding doors. I also found this photo in the Bunnings reviews, which is basically the look I’m after. (I’ll attach the photo.) The problem is I’m not sure: Can the existing track be reused? What other hardware would I need? Is this something a carpenter can install? Or would I need a specialist sliding door installer? If anyone has done something similar, I’d really appreciate some advice. Also, if you’re a carpenter/installer who can have a look and provide a quote, please feel free to message me. Or if you have someone you’d recommend, I’d be very grateful!

I need an experienced window repairer/handyman to inspect and fix 2 awning window with a winder mechanism that has similar problem. And both of them are on the second floor for a townhouse. The window does not close completely. When winding it shut, the bottom of the window appears to get stuck against the bottom frame instead of seating fully into the closed position. There is no obvious dirt or debris causing the issue. It may be related to: Window sash alignment or sagging Window hinge/stay mechanism binding or needing adjustment Please inspect the window, identify the cause, and repair or adjust it so the window can close and seal properly. Photos are attached showing the window and the area where it appears to catch. Please provide a quote including labour and any likely parts required. Experienced window repairers preferred.

The curtain chain in the second bedroom has snapped. It doesn’t affect functionality but I don’t believe it can be repaired and will have to be replaced.

I'm renting an older house and have an unused fireplace with an open chimney. Cold air is coming in through the front opening and from the top of the chimney. I'm also concerned that possums or other pests could get inside. Hi, I need help fixing my garage door and remote. The motor is quite old and doesn’t have a clear brand label. At the moment, there is no proper connection between the remote and the motor. The remote is not working normally, it only operates the door when I hold the button down, and even then the door just goes up and down incorrectly. Current issues: • Remote not paired with the motor • No normal open/close function • Door only moves while holding the button • Door movement is inconsistent (goes up/down incorrectly) I believe the system needs to be reset and properly reprogrammed, and possibly checked for any motor or receiver issues.
