Isolate or disconnect the failed light on the ceiling fan, your recommendation on which is cleaner. Leave the ceiling fan in place and confirm it still runs correctly on the remote before you finish. Make good all ceiling penetrations and clean up before leaving. Photos of the room before and after, and a certificate of electrical safety on completion.
