When using the remote to turn on our Arlec ceiling fan, the fan doesn’t start and beeps twice. At first when the issue started occurring, it would start and then stop again repeatedly but now it won’t start at all. When turning on the light it switches on completely fine, it’s just the fan that won’t turn on. I’ve done some investigating on google for answers and the most likely explanation that came up was this: “With Arlec ceiling fans, this combination of symptoms—where the unit beeps responsively to commands but the fan itself remains dead—is a classic, known behavior pointing to a faulty internal remote receiver module (specifically the controller unit tucked inside the top canopy) or a dead starting capacitor. The electronics are registering your command (the beep), but the switching circuit inside the receiver is broken and failing to pass that physical electric current down into the motor windings.” This is a possible fix google said: “Replace the Internal Remote Kit: An electrician can drop the top canopy and swap out the broken receiver block. Arlec sells replacement modules such as the Arlec Remote Control Ceiling Fan Kit or the Arlec Grid Connect Smart Kit at retailers like Bunnings Warehouse.” If this is the problem, I can buy the kit at Bunnings and we would just need it installed on the fan. Looking for an electrician to install a brand-new Arlec ceiling fan in a room. I have already purchased the fan. It is an apartment. Top floor. Roof access can be with our building manager. This is a fresh installation where no fan has been before. However, there are two existing lights situated on either side of where the fan will go. Hi, I’m looking for a licensed NSW electrician to complete several electrical installations in my apartment. I have not purchased the new fittings yet, as I would like the electrician to review the products/specifications and confirm compatibility with the existing installation before I place the order. I will also need to seek approval from the strata for the ceiling fans (I assume). Work required Living/dining area/bathroom - Remove and replace 2 existing ceiling light fittings with new LED light fittings and ideally a dimmer. - Replace 1 existing ceiling light fitting with a DC ceiling fan with integrated LED light. Bedroom - Replace 1 existing ceiling light fitting with a DC ceiling fan with integrated LED light with a dimmer. The ceiling fans will be installed in the same locations as the existing light fittings. No new ceiling locations are planned. The fans I am currently considering are the EGLO Surf DC Ceiling Fan with integrated LED – 48", White with Oak Timber Style blades. The ceilings are approximately 2.8 m high. 2 x 2 of the current lights are on the same switch so I think that would need some work to put a fan wall control (if possible) - See pictures Switches / dimmers I would also like the electrician to: - Check the existing wiring and wall switches. - Confirm what type of wall controller / dimmer is compatible with the new lights and ceiling fans. - Advise whether any switches or dimmers need to be replaced. - Let me know whether I should purchase these myself or whether you can supply the compatible ones. Looking for an experienced plasterer/gyprocker to complete a small repair in the ceiling around a recently installed ceiling fan in our master bedroom. As shown in the photo, there is a rectangular section of plasterboard around the ceiling fan which was cut to install a support beam for the fan. The job is to: * Patch/reinstate the plasterboard around the ceiling fan * Tape/set/plaster as required * Sand smooth and flush with the existing ceiling * Leave the repaired area ready for us to prime and paint ourselves * Protect the bedroom/flooring from dust and clean up afterwards Ceiling height is approximately 3.9 metres, so you’ll need to provide your own suitable high ladder/platform/access equipment.
