Hello, We are looking for an experienced carpenter, joiner, or skilled handyman to repair a faulty shopfront panel at our retail store, in Pacific Fair. The Issue: The vertical panel that features our "EYETESTS" sign also functions as a cupboard door to conceal our main security shutter. This panel is misaligned and will not close or lock properly. Due to the misalignment, it is rubbing against the frame, causing damage to the edge of the panel and preventing the locking mechanism from engaging. The Job: The task is to diagnose and repair the panel to ensure it closes flush and locks securely. The scope of work will involve: 1. Inspecting the panel, its hinges, and the locking mechanism. 2. Diagnosing the root cause of the misalignment (e.g., dropped/loose hinges, warped panel, issue with the lock). 3. Adjusting, re-securing, or replacing the hinges as necessary to ensure the panel hangs straight. 4. Repairing or adjusting the locking mechanism on the pillar and the receiving bracket on the door so they align and engage correctly. 5. Ensuring the panel closes smoothly without scraping or rubbing. 6. Testing the door to confirm it operates correctly and locks securely. Please note: The successful contractor MUST supply any necessary replacement parts (e.g., new hinges, screws, lock components). The cost for these materials must be included in your final offer. I have two shaker style bathroom vanities sitting side-by-side and as the tiler didn’t tile to the edge of the room, I require a solution that joins both vanities together seamlessly and covers that exposed floor space. I would like a small platform built to cover that gap and a face panel at the front. I have two shelves in the same wood and paint colour as the cabinet that can be used for the job. I’d like a raised piece at the same height & style as the first 10cm rise on the existing vanity and a shaker style face panel between the two vanities stepped back slightly, but joining the vanities together to make them look like one long vanity instead of two separate vanities. The gap between vanities is approximately 22.5cm as can be seen in attached photos.
