I need microsoft help

$100

Matteo was fantastic, everything you want in an IT guy - patient patient patient ... AND thorough, polite, friendly, socially competent and completely respectable. He went to the shops to purchase a new wifi-extension box for me, and installed it. In order to find the best position in relation to the main router (not an easy task with walls, furniture, gates and distance), he went back and forth rearranging things, measuring signals and reporting on results. Not once did he look at his clock or seem rushed at all. Instead he persisted until he was happy that everything was perfect. Needless to say I'll be contacting him again for any problems related to wifi/internet, and I'll be recommending him to everyone looking for a fantastic tech guy. Thank you Matteo.

Martin was fantastic. He diagnosed our wifi issues, reconfigured the router and did a whole lot of other stuff way over my head. Our wifi speed is now optimised throughout the house. Martin clearly has a very broad knowledge and I recommend him highly.

Laptop Faulty charging system

Device: INFINITY-V5-9R6-88 Gaming Laptop (5 years old) Specs: Intel i7, RTX 2060 6GB, 16GB RAM, 144Hz display Issue: Laptop randomly shuts off. Burning smell from the battery area when this happens. Troubleshooting Attempted: Without battery (using wall adapter only): Works for basic tasks (no crashes). Gaming performance drops significantly (lower FPS in intense games). With battery (new replacements tried): Laptop shuts off when plugged in. Batteries do not charge (noticed with both new batteries). Suspected Causes: Battery/power circuit damage: Burning smell suggests overheating or short circuits in the charging port, battery terminal, or motherboard. Power delivery issue: The laptop may rely on combined battery + adapter power for full gaming performance. Without the battery, the adapter alone can’t supply enough power. Faulty charging system: New batteries not charging points to a problem with the laptop’s internal charging circuit.

I want/need to upgrade my PC's motherboard and CPU and would like to hire someone competent with PC builds to assist with this. I will pay for the parts and will need someone to simply install everything and ensure it is all booting correctly. I am happy with my GPU, RAM, and SSDs hence why I'm opting to upgrade rather than build new. Happy to take any advice.

Fix laptop

$50

Clarkson WA 6030, Australia

21st Mar 2025

My laptop's too slow. I have an Acer, dual core. Bought it about 5 years ago. I had the memory split into two operating systems after I bought it. I am not currently using one of the operating systems, because one of my kids caused the password to enter that operating system, to fail. I haven't been able to fix this problem. The other operating system that I am using, is starting to slow. I wanna see if this can be improved? There are probably numerous, more minor problems, that I want to see if they can be resolved? I can't think of the minor problems right now, but there are some. I can go over the minor problems when someone comes to fix things. I'm happy to pay $50/hour, with a minimum of $50 to start. After the first hour, it will be $20/each 20 mins, or less than each 20 mins. Once the job reaches the hour, it will revert to $50/hour. E.g. if the job lasts 1hr, 40mins, it will be $50 + 2 x $20 = $90. If the job lasts 2 hours, it will be $50 x 2 = $100. If the job lasts just 40 mins, it will be a minimum of $50.

Peter knew his stuff. One problem: it's all online and I would prefer I could have help to deal with things immediately....like a computer shop. Now that I've had my session with Peter over the phone, I need to try and recall everything (and I don't understand everything) when/if I go to a computer shop
