Removed has stove to replace with electric. Gas pipe was capped... but kitchen installed just bent it out the way... I can't smell anything but I don't like the way it's bent. So would prefer it caped again properly. It's 1/2 inch copper pipe. Easy access at waste height.... open in wall.. simply turn gas off.. cut pipe and cap it off with your fancy compression tool..
